Science is most definitely not a religion, any more than fiances are. However, like money, I would say that it is something that some people can come to worship - that is, they let science decide how they live their lives.

Scientism is religion.
Methodological naturalism is the "science" of materialism.
Many people today do in fact worship at the temples of science since they have nothing else.

The so-called science of origins requires certain untestable assumptions and faith-based presuppositions to make its conclusions. Thus, in a sense, that aspect of "science" is "religion". Is religion scientific, bentzsur?

I would go as far as to say that science can be used a bargaining chip for a world view or religious belief.
