Yes. Doesn't mean I don't believe it. It just means I keep a open mind.

How do you decide what parts are true and what parts are false?

Exactly! That's what keeps it interesting!

Wow...if it's all on how you interpret the Bible, then how do we even have morals?

Does make you wonder sometimes. Never had any illusions that religion had the corner on morals, though. I know where my morals came from-Mom and Dad.

So if I were to say that John 1:1 and all the other passages that speak of Jesus being God were wrong, and Jesus was just another good guy, and I claimed to be a Christian, what would you say?

That you were entitled to your opinion.

It wouldn't bother you that someone claiming to be a Christian denies the deity of Christ?

[for the record, I don't actually deny the deity of Christ]

I might wonder why someone with those views would bother to define himself as a Christian, but it's not my place to define anyone else's beliefs for them.

It's not just a matter of defining someone's beliefs. A person may be in peril with eternal consequences if they deny the deity of Christ.
Of course, that rests on believing the Scripture. So, again, it goes back to - how do you decide what parts of the Bible you believe?
