I got a Facebook invitation a few hours ago to a potluck birthday party tomorrow night for a couple we know. Seems his birthday was last Monday and her birthday is on the 30th, and they decided that they want presents and a party and a potluck tomorrow (Saturday) night. Hmmm..... ok. When I called to let her know we were free, she said to be sure and bring food for about 20, but it could be less. Anyway, I think our plan is to pick up some grocery store fried chicken since I like to make sure that there's at least one item there with some protein and not overloaded with sugar. After dinner this evening we then ran out to the store to grab a birthday card for the couple, plus a present -- I went with a pretty decorative wreath for their door, some hot cocoa mix and some holiday cookie mix. So ... the gifts all wrapped, the card is all signed, and the chicken is planned, if not purchased. WHEW.

I suppose when we pop by the grocery store tomorrow, I should pick up some sugar free beverages for me since this couple tends to have wine and fruit punch (they have kids) and nothing that I can actually drink.

Sometimes will mooooove sloooooow no matter what you do. I had to stand while waiting for the bus because a near homeless, probably crazy or drunk man was using the bench as his bed. Luckily I did not have to wait for long.

Then a young man with no shirt and his pant falling down asked me what time the bus was coming. I asked him which bus he was taking and he said "Which ever one you are taking." Then he asked me if I had an ID I lied and sad no. Then he asked me if I had a cell phone. I lied and said it was low on batteries.

I know some ppl take the bus to save on gas, but I think I'd only do it if it were my only choice (if I had no car/ride). Some people I see on buses and at the stops around here look dangerous, and half the time the stops are in the crime-ridden areas where you just get shot outside for no reason. I know a lot of poorer single moms have to ride area buses...I hope they have some kind of defense, for IF something happens. A lot of them live in the projects I think, and that by itself is dangerous enough 'round here.

The bus system here in Hawaii is excellent at one time it was voted "The Best in the Nation.'' Tourists take because the bus goes to many of the attractions all the hotels charge for parking some as much as $25 per day. When the bus costs $2.25 per ride it a great price. I have been taking the bus for years since high school and I am 35 now. For the most part I am very safe. I don't know how to drive.

As long as you know the person using it is not allergic, put a capful of teatree oil in each new bottle of shampoo. Lice hate teatree oil.
