ORIGINAL: momma-mo I'd like to see the Doctor Who Channel! All episodes from its many years. I'll second that!

The all puppy channel as featured on "This American Life" radio show this weekend. Come to think of it the all cat channel would be fun too!

Hmmm ... I think I agree with a different kind of a Christian television network. Not just preaching and people sitting on a couch talking, but something that is different. My dream christian network would have some programming from abroad - even if it is something as simple as a feature on musical artists from different countries. It would also feature different cultures in the US as well. I would also love to see original and already created dramas, sitcoms, independent films, documentaries, game shows, and feature films. A masterpiece theatre-like show could be shown periodically that features a different christian play. I could easily see a reality show ("ministry intern" comes immediately to mind). We'd go after advertising revenue, have membership support, and make money from the sale of dvds as well. Don't know if christian schools play one another in tournaments - but broadcasting that - or having interviews with sports stars who love God - could be great. A money management show could round out things quite nicely. The social networking stuff could include a book club, where the book is discussed on tv, but maybe there'd be extended sessions online; the game show is a natural fit - even a christian "american idol" type show (which already exists) that could run for 6 or 7 episodes could have a social component. Documentaries and original movies could have learning guides with them to help build an audience and also help out the homeschool moms. Christian Traveler could talk about different christian spots around the country and the globe. I'd also include a short prayer show - maybe 15 minutes or so each day - where we'd focus on one or two needs around the world - there'd be some background concerning it (maybe there's a flood or there could be something like child abduction or something) and then a time of prayer. In reality, a network that has all of this would lack focus and might not survive. But this is fantasy land, so that is what I'd be interested in. In real life, if I could do a la carte stations, I'd pick: ABC, NBC, CBS (never know when a good show might pop up there) PBS C-SPAN A&E FOOD HGTV DIY TBS DISCOVERY HISTORY TCM or AMC USA TNT

ORIGINAL: BelleWeather The Fireplace Channel--like the Crackling Fireplace Video for Christmas, but with regular music, or you can play your own music. Our public TV station does this every Christmas beginning on Christmas Eve morning and lasting thru Christmas night. They play Christmas music in the background. I love having it on, even tho we have our own fireplace. Sometimes you even see a hand in the picture adding more wood to the fire. Nice to enjoy the fire without the heat. Other ideas already mentioned include a craft channel. (Used to be HGTV, but now they are almost all real estate shows.) I would also like a Christian music channel similar to CMT or GAC. Not only would they play music, but have stories about the artists, and news about Christian events. A family movie channel that does not play the same movies over and over.
