I asked for prayer a while back for Art Fowler who has cancer to his esophagus. The cancer has spread all through his body, bones, etc. and Art is in horrible pain. Please pray for God's touch.

Here's the latest update from his wife:

8:00 p.m. SUNDAY EVENING - Would you please take time to pray for us tomorrow? Due to the fact that Art has been in even more pain than before I have booked a flight for us to return home tomorrow (Monday). We will be leaving here at 2:00 p.m. central time and arriving home at 3:00 p.m. mountain time. Art is having pain in his neck, back, sides and chest (esophagus, not heart). It is almost more than he can bear. He is taking his pain medicine as prescribed, but either it in not strong enough for his current condition, or it is the wrong one, because it is just not doin' it! It is extremely difficult for us all to watch, and I am afraid if I wait any longer to get him home, he will not be able to make it there. We have decided against pursuing MD Anderson any further and just want to get back to Art's oncologist at Sky Ridge.

Please pray that somehow God would give Art a break from the extreme pain tomorrow. That he would feel stronger than he has in the past week or so. That God would give us both the endurance we need for the trip home. That is the only way we are going to make it. Fortunately I was able to find a non-stop flight.

Thank you so very much,
Joy

Oh dear Father, we acknowledge that it is all in Your hands. Please bring rest and ease Art's pain. Help him to see You and be comforted. Be with his family and loved ones and give them peace and rest also Lord.
Be with Diane and her husband as they travel and keep them safe. May they and Art and his family be a comfort to each other. Give them strength Lord and help in every way that You know is best. In Jesus name we ask. Amen

Father God,
I join Sparkle in the prayer she has already offered up. I pray for You to comfort
Art, remove his pain, and give him strength. Lift up his wife and family and give
them encouragement. Lord, please be merciful and hear our prayers and answer
according to Your Perfect Will. Protect this couple and hold them in Your loving
and tender care.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.

THIS IS FROM ONE OF ART and JOY"S DAUGHTERS:

Wednesday my Dad had an appointment with his oncologist. We weren't sure what to do as it had snowed over a foot during the night and continued to fall. In fact, all schools in the area were shut down. Dad had become increasingly weak and we knew that we really couldn't wait until another day.

They met with the Dr. who confirmed what we already knew. Dad's cancer was out of control and his days here with us are short. He was very sweet and kind as he told Laura that our Dad is a wonderful man and that he keeps the Bible Dad gave him on his nightstand and reads it every night. (Before they left for Germany he prayed with Dad).

We have chosen to care for Dad at home. It has been our privilege but also comes with it's challenges. Please pray that we will continue to be able to do this.

Please also pray for peace for my Dad as he prepares to meet his Savior, the one he so FAITHFULLY served for all of his years. We are so thankful that we do not have to fear what is ahead for him, it will be a party like none other.

Please also continue to pray for us as our selfishness does not want to let him go. We do not understand but we do KNOW that somehow Jesus loves my Dad even more than we do.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you, prayer warriors, for continuing to lift up this family for these needs during this season of life.
Father,
I pray that the time and manner of Art's passing to Glory brings comfort to his family
and glory and honor to You who he has served so faithfully.
Please be merciful, Lord, and keep Art free of pain and suffering. Give him precious
moments with his family and make it so his spirit is ever attuned to his Savior Jesus.
Be close to his family and comfort them. Help them to experience Your Perfect Peace.
Let them be comforted knowing that when he shuts his eyes for the final time here on
this dark planet, that he will be face to face with His Savior and safe in The Father's
arms.
I pray all of these things in HIS name,
Amen.
From Art's Daughter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Philippians 1:20-21
According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

In the Bible that my dad gave me for Christmas last year, he had highlighted these verses and wrote in the margin that they were his favorite verses. How very true they are.

As some of you may know, my dad has gone to meet the Lord face to face. He passed away this morning peacefully at home. I would be lying if I said that we didn't feel a certain sense of emptiness, but we are rejoicing with the angels because we know that he is in heaven with a line as far as the eye can see of individuals who are there because of his obedience and boldness for Christ.

We are so grateful to you all for the love and concern you have shown for our family over the last few months. My dad always looked forward to reading each of your notes that were written in the guest book. We selfishly ask that your prayers would not cease for my mom as well as Gayle and her family and myself and my family. Right now, looking forward, the road ahead seems at times unbearable but we are exceedingly joyful as we picture dad standing before the Father and offering Him his many, many crowns.

God bless you all for the encouragement and love we have felt poured out on us.

Galatians 6:2
Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
THANK YOU!!!

Love,
Laura

Father God,

Thank You for Art's life and all that he did for You. I praise You and give You the glory for
Art's ability to touch so many who found eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Now I ask that You comfort his his wife and family. Although they know they will see him again
someday, they are going to miss him terribly on this earth. Give them encouragement and
bring them into a wonderful future where Art's work (Your work) will continue through them
according to Your Will.

Help them bear all things and hold them in Your most loving and tender care.

I ask in Jesus' name,
Amen.
