Every time I watch Fox News I always end up wondering what planet they are reporting from. Their news bears no resemblance to what is relevant or really going on most of the time.

Axelrod may have determined that ghettoizing the conservative base onto FNC will ultimately hurt the GOP and establish a 'News Channel' that only represents and speaks to a permanent losing minority, whilst repulsing any somewhat rational undecided due to their hateful invective and childish antics.

I just had my satellite put back in so I can watch FOX.
That was the only reason I had it installed again.

Hopefully, Obama, Axelrod, Emmanuel, and their ilk will continue to bash Fox to the point that even the most hardcore Democrat/liberal/socialist/etc. will begin to wonder if maybe the administration is really trying to hide something (their real agenda). Then the Obama house of cards will come tumbling down.

I seldom watch cable news, but I have watched FOXRepublican News more than the others. I would agree with much of the criticism of it but I think it's dumb to boycott it or whatever. That only encourages the conservative whining.[sm=crystreams.gif]

Basic rule of thumb - when you have a real job doing real things, tangling with someone who controls the airwaves and whose ONLY job it is to use those airwaves to criticize you is bad strategy. They get to focus full time on offense while you get to engage in defense only part time.

I think the administration is justified in doing what it's doing, but I do think it's stupid.

If anyone wants correct action, there needs to be "truth" in broadcasting
again with libel actions if falsehoods are aired.

CNN and others are just running a race to see who can get the rumor
out there in the air first.

I agree that much of Fox News programming is obviously opinion, but it's a bit disingenuous to pretend that MSNBC and CNN aren't guilty of the same thing, just a different opinion.

UCLA did a study a number of years back to look at bias in the media. They examined 20 news media [TV/papers/blogs] and ranked them according to the same conservative/liberal scales as are applied to politicians when rating them on their level of conservativism/liberalism. Eighteen of the 20 news media were found to have a left-leaning bias. Fox News was one of the two that did not; however, Fox News was shown to have only a slightly right of center bias [this ranking was done regarding Brit Hume's hour program]. If memory serves, PBS's Lehrer was closest to center [neutral] as any of the outlets.

So, I personally always get a giggle from people who rant and rave about the overwhelming biases of Fox News and yet are absolutely silent about the obvious biases of the other outlets.

UCLA's recommendation after the study? Watch/read a bit of those with the conservative bias and those with the liberal bias and you should be able to figure out where the truth is.

Let me guess. You also think that the other networks (CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, NPR, etc, etc) are all objective right?

Why is it OK for those networks to be so blatantly LEFT, but it's horrible that Fox may have a conservative tilt?

I dislike the leftist slant of today's media that you mentioned. I have no desire to listen to the news with a "right slant" since I basically would like the news without all of the other felgercarb.

Because of my hearing I tend to get my news on the web and since the webmasters at Fox were nefarious for leaving up 2 year old articles when they had the "Iraq" and "Afghanistan" news sections I quit wasting my time. I figured if making your media clear and current to read for those with handicaps wasn't considered good business that's fine- I'll take my business elsewhere. The same rule applies to TV.

Why do you call it FOXRepublican News? O'Reilly is an Independent, Hannity is a Reagan Republican, Greta is...I don't know what Greta is, and Beck calls himself Libertarian and Geraldo is a Liberal. The daytime news is news. The only ones I see giving their opinions are perhaps, well, maybe Megyn Kelly.

Now that Obama has his own "pet peacock", there are no accusations of NBC or MSNBC. I can't even stand my LOCAL ABC, CBS and NBC stations because they are so biased toward Obama. CNN is also pro-Obama. So, when Bush was President and everyone called FOX the mouthpiece for the Whitehouse, did any of you liberals watch FOX? I doubt it. You watch what interests you and so you watch the others. I don't like Obama and I want to hear about every lowdown thing he is planning. I won't get that on the Obama channels. So I watch FOX and especially, Beck. What is wrong with that. If I loved Obama an hour of Beck would be torture for me so people watch what they want. I don't believe all of the FOX haters that they even watch it.

And as for the conservative whining, I'd be more concerned that the ratings have gone up for Fox since the Whitehouse started their little "war with Fox". Don't ask for a link. I heard it on O'Reilly.

The viewership of FOX News amounts to a rounding error relative to the population of the US. I'd just straight up not care.

Always so flippant of things that are positive to those you don't agree with but will toot the smallest horn for those you do agree with. Fox is up strongly while the rest are dramatically down, those are the facts. Even if Fox remained flat the others have lost double digit percentages.

Note: I don't watch any of the cable news networks and could care less.

I got a report today that says about 40% of FOX viewers are
democrats. About 50% or less are republicans. The others are
a mix of independents, etc.

And there are more tuning in because they want to know why
the president is so upset.................lol

So, this is all backfiring on them.
And to watch CNN is funny when axelrod and his ilk are more or
less warning their propoganda media not to follow FOX's lead.
Many of the stories on the other networks were shown months
before on FOX.

So we evil FOX viewers are up with current events over the CNN only
crowds.

I also reinstated the satellite so I could see SOME of the under handed
dealing of the administration. Because none of the other networks will
dare do honest journalism.

Of course, benching Fox's degree of bias off of the Brit Hume segment is a bit like guaging my moral character based on how well I sit still in church at 10am on Sunday ....

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that Fox carries a bit of a chip. (Yes, I prefer Lehrer, but Hume as always been pretty decent)

And how does any of that negate the obvious and o'erweening political biases of the other media outlets toward the left? When I hear the left yelling just as vociferously that the New York Times, MSNBC, et al are just as illegitimate as Fox News because of their political bias, then I'll take their arguments about Fox more seriously.

The reality is that all 3 major cable news networks have their figures who are obviously spouting nothing but opinion and trying to pass it off as objective news. All 3 also offer times during the day where there really isn't any commentary being given and something fairly close to regular news is provided.

Again, if you don't agree with something's slant, what is so hard about simply not watching/reading/listening to it? Fox News, just like all other media, is free to say what it likes within the confines of the law as per the Constitution; people are free to tune in or out, as per the Constitution. I don't watch any of them as I could only catch them in the evenings when all 3 cable news networks have people on who seem to enjoy yelling and name calling and railroading arguments rather than civil discussion.
