The singer you are speaking of is Cyle Cornish. He wrote the song "The Glory Goes To You" that I'm sure you saw them singing on Gospel Music Southern Style. That particular version of the show was done 5-7 years ago. The Melody Masters disbanded about 2003 or so. On the show you saw, if it's the one I'm thinking of, you saw Eric Phillips (formerly of Mark Trammell Trio and now a police officer in Gadsden, Alabama) on tenor, Phillip Hughes (currently with Kingsmen), Scott Whitener (currently pastoring Catawba Heights Wesleyan Church in Belmont, North Carolina) and Cyle (don't know what he's doing now - he went back to Michigan after group disbanded). Three of the original members of the re-organized Melody Masters that had their rebirth around 1996 still sing several dates each year as The Carolina Quartet - Chris Roberts, Scott Whitener, Roger Burnett joined by bass singer Lamar Levi and David Bruce Murray on Keyboards.

Tony, Thanks for the mention, but I'm no longer playing for the Carolina Quartet. Cyle Cornish owns Lighthouse Sportswear in Michigan. In addition to athletic sportswear, he also has the contract for NQC's merchandise...T-shirts, etc. I saw him at NQC this year, but did not get the opportunity to speak with him. Here is his website, where his business contact information is listed: http://www.lighthousesportswear.com/

The Harvesters recorded "The Glory Goes To You " appro. three years ago. Phil Hughes brought it to us when he was our tenor. Good Song.

I saw the show to which the original poster referred on INSP Saturday evening. They had a good sound. I recoginzed Phil and Eric immediately but I had never seen the other 2. Cyle did a good job on that song. Thanks for updating about the group, since I, too, was wondering if they were still in existence. I think the credits on the show listed it as 2001 or possibly 2002.

Billboy - Scott Whitener, the guy that did the talking for the group, started his "career" with the very popular regional group in the 80's, "The Regals". He then became lead singer for The Singing Americans in about 1987 after Ed Hill left to join the Stamps and Clayton Inman slid down to baritone. Scott stayed there for about 5 years, then left to help Dwayne Burke form Jericho. In 1996 he joined the Melody Masters when they were still working only on weekends and helped lead them to a pretty good run and full-time status. They were on main stage at NQC, also for the first Red Deer Convention. They later had several membership changes and eventually retired the name. Scott was and is a fantastic lead singer. Cyle sang with some regional groups in his home state of Michigan and has a T-shirt business that he still operates today as has already been mentioned.

Thanks, Tony, for the added info. They did have a great sound on that INSP program. quote:
