This morning I found this message on Ernie Haase's blog. Sounds like Tim will be OK -- PTL! ----------------------------------------- Got a call from Tim Duncan last week and he said he had a weird thing happen to him. (After we got back from that long flight from South Africa) Tim said he went fishing and all of the sudden, just sitting in the chair relaxing, His speech started to “slur” and it really scared him! Long story short, Tim is fine and was cutting his grass yesterday but after three days in the hospital and every test the doctors “think” He may have had a Tia (Transient ischemic) Which probably brought on by the long flights and not moving around. They tell you to move your limbs and they are not joking! All that said, Tim told me “It was a wake up call to start getting healthy and start moving around everyday!” I know what he means. I had a scare back in the fall of 2008 in Hartford, CT that put me in the hospital emergency room for the day. I thought I was having a heart attack but what really happened was I had gone 24 hours without eating and then I drank a big energy drink loaded with bunch of caffeine and all this natural “****” that stimulates your nerves but really hurts you in the long run. I ran up five flights of stairs going to the YMCA that day and when I reached the top I fell over thinking I had a heart attack. It took the doctors 6 hours to get my heart rate down and calm my nerves. I have never been that SCARED. Tim said he felt the same way. Two years a go while we were asleep on the bus, someone started yelling in our bus from the bus door. It scared us since the door was supposed to be locked. When we got up and found the source, it was a passer by telling us that a man (Ryan) was lying on the pavement outside the bus passed out. We never found out what was wrong but the doctors think it was dehydration. We do not tell you everything we go through because we do not want to scare YOU. But, we have gone through things that have sent us a wake up call. What we do is very taxing. So, with all this said we hear the alarm clock loud and clear and are going to try our best “together” to eat, sleep and drink in a more healthy way.
