ORIGINAL: BillBaileyBFAFan I have been an SG fan for years, but never followed groups real closely, as far as who comes and goes. It's from that position of not knowing that I ask, are the recent departures we have seen from people leaving the SG industry the norm, or is it greater because of the economic condition the country is in? In the last few months we've seen: Derrick Selph - going to school to be an electrician Steve Ladd - going to work as a music leader, and presumably a full time job elsewhere Eric Phillips - going into law enforcement. These are all guys from the best of the best groups, and I assume along with that, some of the best paid. Is it a sign that groups are struggling, when guys in the upper echelon of SG music are leaving? Don't assume anything as far as this goes. I'm not saying that they are rich, or are making tons of money, just that logically, the more popular a group, means bigger concerts, more album sales, and therefore, more money than groups that aren't as popular.
