PETER WANTED TO COME UP WITH A PROGRAM TO ORGANIZE WHAT GOD WAS DOING; BUT GOD WOULD HAVE US TO FORSAKE OUR VARIOUS PROGRAMS AND GIMMICKS AND, INSTEAD, SIMPLY LISTEN TO JESUS. THE SAME GLORY IS JUST AS CLOSE TO US AS IT WAS TO PETER - AS IS THE SAME INSTANCE TO REVERT TO DEAD WORKS IN SPITE OF WHO WE HAVE SEEN.
Matthew 17:5 - While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.
Deuteronomy 28:1 - If you will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
