Hello yourself!

I was tired today so I brought home KFC, extra crispy , and had a salad. The salad cancelled out any extra calories that the extra crispy brought to the table, so I feel quite virtuous.

and I went to Walmart . While waiting at the jewelry counter I had a nice talk with a guy from Dallas, who also loves Walmart.

I had a truly freaky experience this evening. I filled out an application for a store credit card (we're getting new flooring in the kitchen) and the guy entered the information, then had to call the home office to finish the procedure. He answered some questions, then handed me the phone to answer a round of questions.

To verify that I am who I say I am and someone wasn't trying to open credit in my name, she asked a series of multiple choice questions. She named my middle son and I had to verify what age range he is in. Then she named off counties and states and I had to verify which ones we had lived in. Then she named my oldest son and I had to verify what state he lives in.

The fact that she had all this information (and who knows how much more!!!!) was very disturbing. Would y'all be taken aback by that sort of thing?

Knowing how much information is stored about us in our credit reports, that's to be expected for me. It doesn't make me comfortable, but ya know...

Agree. But, it's quite an Orwellian feeling.

Orwellian --- that's a fun word!

Well, fun to say, read, etc. You know what I mean!

I've actually had that happen before. Been asked previous addresses that were so old I couldn't remember if they were correct street numbers or not! That's going waaaaayyyyy back!
Here in MO, they started a new law where we have to "prove" WHO we are when we renew our drivers license. Not only do you have to take in your birth certificate and social security card, but they demand proof of residency also (bank statement, tax receipts, utility bill, etc.) It's ridiculous. An illegal alien can drive without a license or insurance, use our ER's as their primary health care, receive government loans, etc., etc., .... and here we are having to "prove" who we are and where we live! Was that too much of a rant?

Not me. My life is an open book.

Not necessarily a good book, but an open one.

My boy catkid is a Maine Coon. 18 pounds of sweetness. He is 16 and still getting along fine--always been a laid back sort--unless there is catnip around--then he is a tiger.

Foreverredeemed......it's a good thing we moved!!!!! We lived in MO before they started all that and I STILL was never able to do anything at the DMV on the first visit! Every time I went, I had to go back for more documentation for whatever I was doing. I honestly felt as though it was for their amusement more than anything.

It is SO GORGEOUS outside!!! I think I'll go for a long walk this evening.

Hello everyone! I had Cowboy Church tonight--sang a solo. It was a blast. I just love the folks at Cowboy Church. Everyone should have a Cowboy Church to go to.

Anyone have fun plans for the weekend? We are going to canoe a canyon tomorrow. I'll take photos and hopefully use on as my avatar.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Kerrlaw ... I've been admiring your perfect Maine Coon!
I think my little buddy is jealous!!!
I call him Grant. He's very social and quite the conversationalist.

monamie .... You know why they call it the "show-me" state! When my parents first moved to MO and they sent their title in for transfer - they LOST it. I can appreciate what you are saying about never being able to do anything at the DMV on the first visit!

It's suppose to be a low of 55 the next few nights - is it July??? Sure FEELS GREAT!!!

crankius - canoes scare me, I'm terrified of water. Love the outdoors though, the canyon sounds awesome .... we'll be watching your avatar for a pic!

I hope you get some great pics!

We're not doing anything exciting. We were suppose to go to a wedding tomorrow but I'm not feeling well, so we can't go. Linz is pretty bummed.
