Mike: Walt Frazier did not pick up his "Clyde" nickname until he was a member of the Knicks. They were all very "dressy", and Walt's attire reminded some of Clyde (played by Warren Beatty) in the "Bonnie & Clyde" movie. Needless to say I was a big Knicks fan at that time because he was there and for another reason that only a few of you might figure out. Walt was a freshman at SIU when I was a senior. Freshmen were not elgible for varsity ball in those days. I was in grad. school the next year, and had season tickets in the faculty section for all the home games, when he starred as a sophomore and the Salukis went on to win the NIT championship (back when the NIT meant something). He was rather quiet on campus. I talked to him once in the training room, when one of the campus Drs. had sent me to see the athletic trainer to get some tips on getting over a knee sprain. He was quite a basketball player in those days, and for a long time after that. I do not know whether he liked coffee.

ORIGINAL: Kerrlaw BTW, I laughed so hard at the "Good To the Last Dropping" slogan that Mrs. Kerrlaw had to turn off The Unit and see if I needed medical attention. ...mouth to mouth resuscitation????? We placed an ad for a new employee in the paper yesterday, and will hold an open interview tomorrow evening. It'll be interesting to see who shows up. If I lived in your area i'm sure i'd show up as long as I had the qualifications.

Don't you think we should also try to pay his dr bill? No, he was free not to join the party and unless one of your kids jumped in front of him that caused him to get hurt you are not responsible.

ORIGINAL: crankius So I'm being silly, huh. When I found out tonight that he had been the doctor, it made me cry! I just hate to think that someone got hurt at something we hosted. My pastor fell off his roof on his own. He drove himself to the hospital. One day he may preach his own funeral. We can't protect the pastor. Buy him a nice cane. Somebody loaned my pastor one--there's sympathy for you.

It's perfectly normal to feel bad - but feeling bad doesn't mean you did anything wrong. If I choose to go sledding with friends, that's my decision... and if I'm injured - it's my responsibility and mine alone.
