My conclusion, after much prayer and study, is that religion requires works for salvation, where as Christianity requires the the Blood of Christ. Is that not correct? Jim

I believe that by accepting the thought that Christianity is a "religion", one is validating all of the other "religions". Since Jesus tells us that the only way to Heaven is through Him, all of these "religions" are bunk. If someone were to ask me if I am religious, I would say 'No. I am a follower of Jesus Christ."

I too have a dislike for the word, Christianity, as if it were a doctrine or ideology or religion that Christians worship, rather than the risen Christ. But sometimes I find the word unavoidable.

Yes, it is; the one true religion. God bless, Crushmaster.

Real, Biblical Christianity is a relationship, not a "Religion." It's likely been said in the pages I haven't bothered to read, but religion is man's attempt to reach God or earn salvation. Having a relationship with Jesus Christ is possible because of the exact opposite. Without Christ coming and extending Himself toward sinners, we'd have absolutely no hope. "Religion" also reeks of liturgy, ceremony and over-emphasis on human traditions. All of those things sound nice and look fancy, but can still lead to Hell.

Christianity is a religion to unbelievers. Some think we convert them if they step foot in our churches. But it's not so. They presume that we are self-righteous and will look down on them if they've never been to a church. This is a false assumption, of course. On the contrary; true Christianity is a saving relationship with Jesus 24/7 everyday of the week. No church building can save you, no church body can save you...It is Jesus alone who calls you to come and receive him as your Lord and Savior. And this is not religion. It's not by our doing...but what he's done for us and in us.
