hossistheboss02 -> Has anyone else heard this? (group-disbanding) (11/25/2008 4:02:16 PM)

I heard from a friend down in Nashville that Monument Quartet had disbanded. I checked their myspace and all of the tour dates have been cleared. Does anyone know anymore about this?

Kyle Boreing has a recent post about it here.

I do know that Monument doesnt tour much in the winter, as they work primarily fairs. I talked with Darryl Williams at NQC and he said they tour seasonaly and would slow down in the fall, so it may not be true. Someone should call Marshall and check it out!

I've never heard of them.

Werenn't they all part of Tribute Quartet or something like that?

Tribute was part of Momument Quartet. The three left Momument and formed Tribute Quartet. Marshal then reformed Momument Quartet.

I made some calls and hears the story.

First, one of the guys from Tribute was let go and the other two left with him. Monument reformed going the country route ie: Statler Brothers. From what I can tell, they had tremendous sucess in that market but the fair economy has been hit very heavy by the current economic state. They were offered a major theatre in Branson but chose not to go. I saw their show last year and it was awesome. Very high energy, live band and great vocals. Its a shame they chose to close down. From what I hear, Daryl Williams is singing in Pigeon Forge and Matt Felts is going to be singing for another quartet but I the person I talked to didnt know who. Im not sure about Marshall Pugh or Jerry Pilgrim.
Its sad to see them not doing the crossover thing. IT was great to have a Gospel group reaching new crowds. Im anxiious to see where these guys land. Jerry Pilgrim and Matt Felts are incredible singers. I hope they stay in SG.

Hmm. Don't they have a style like Crossway? I wonder if anything could happen there.

sevans -> RE: Has anyone else heard this? (group-disbanding) (11/26/2008 6:15:38 PM)

What about Lucas Case? I think he was the piano player.

He left a while back, if I recall correctly.

Don't know if this would confirm anything about the disbanding or not, but tenor Matt Felts has left to join Cross 4 Crowns.

After reading that press release, I'm wondering if Dallas' doctor-recommended vocal rest is why he's not starting with The Inspirations until sometime in January?

Where did you hear that? I wasn't aware of The Inspirations hiring him.

danielmount -> RE: Has anyone else heard this? (group-disbanding) (11/27/2008 12:52:13 PM)

I hadn't heard that either. That would be remarkable—if for no other reason than that for the Inspirations to have two changes in 3 or 4 months is very rare.

Martin was telling that to some other fans at their record table recently at a singing. Said he'd already sang out with them one weekend. He didn't seem to be keeping it quiet. Also, apparently Archie will still travel whenever he wants to. Seems like a good thing. We'll see. Never know the outcome, things change so quick, you know.

Well, it sounds good. Dallas has a voice much in the style of Archie's anyway, so the group won't miss a beat.

Dinana -> RE: Has anyone else heard this? (group-disbanding) (11/27/2008 7:09:59 PM)

Wow!! That's a big surprise (to me anyway!) about Dallas Rogers.

danielmount -> RE: Has anyone else heard this? (group-disbanding) (11/27/2008 7:36:55 PM)

I've always heard Archie in Dallas's voice. Ever since the first time I heard Dallas I've been hoping to hear him with the group.

frog43 -> RE: Has anyone else heard this? (group-disbanding) (11/28/2008 12:17:04 AM)

Looks like you get your wish. The buzz I hear is that Dallas will indeed join the Inspirations in January.

danielmount -> RE: Has anyone else heard this? (group-disbanding) (11/28/2008 7:37:28 AM)

I'm thrilled.[:)]

sevans -> RE: Has anyone else heard this? (group-disbanding) (11/28/2008 9:15:00 AM)

An area promoter who has Cross for Crowns booked in my area told me that Dallas left because the doctor ordered vocal rest.

sammyrld -> RE: Has anyone else heard this? (group-disbanding) (11/29/2008 12:29:31 AM)

left for vocal rest and suddenly re-appears, yeah right!

why didn't he just tell c4c "hey guys, i've got the opportunity to sing with the inspiraions". that would be too logical.

i've heard through the grapevine from several groups that he has been with that he gives a reason for leaving, then they find out that it was false.

does he have a good voice, yes. will he fit the inspirations, yes.
should the inspirations take a picture with him? Not if they want it to be an up to date group photo in a year or two.

he's what 25 and been with about 8 groups. like you've heard in politics, let his record speak for him. haha!

Amen. this is sad, if true. These are really good guys.
