The news about Fort Hood has just shown up as the main lead story on our BBC News At Ten. Praying for all concerned. Does anyone here have friends/family there?

Ok ladies, I need some ideas. Ray is deploying to Iraq sometime this spring....probably late spring sometime but not sure yet. What are some ways for us to prepare for it? How can I help him? The last time he deployed he was single. Now he is married, we have a home and a baby. We are both having a hard time coming to terms with him leaving. How can we make it easier for everyone?

See, I am normally the person who does all the home stuff (including repairs and maintenance) as well as bills and business stuff. However, the yard is going to need some help next year. I plan to have someone turn part of the yard back into a lawn instead of all of it being stone and garden. Too much to deal with and the kid needs some actual grass to play on.
I know I'll have help and support from church peeps and some growing friendships here. Actually asking for the help will be a big step for me though. I do plan to spend some time back east, but not all of it. So there will be some planning in regards to that. Emotionally though, how do you prepare? Is it just like dealing with the newborn, a matter of survival and eventually adapting to it?

Could that person from church not just also come in twice a day to feed the cats and change the litter?

I feel bad that I never came back after Rob got home to report how things were. Here I am, better late than never right? Well, the first week was fun with only a few tense moments. One having to deal with sex but apparently we got that resolved since I am now 8 1/2 weeks pregnant. Ha! God must have really wanted to bless us again because looking at the calendar we shouldn't have been successful in that arena. Yet, u/s showed us a little bean and a heartbeat this morning. :)
My hubby is back at his civilian job which will have him traveling some again. He is trying to decide if he will stay in or resign from the Reserves. Big decision.
