DUH!!! How could I forget that Jerry Thompson sang with the Oakland Qt????? And another name I remembered Travis Carter, I think he used to live in the upstate SC area. I wonder if he still does?

I have most, if not all of the LP's. They are mine though and you can't have them (LOL). I will try and get a list of the ones I have tonight and then we will see what I am missing. The funny thing is, because simply we are based from Charleston, I have people come up to me and say you guys remind us of The Oakland Quartet. I can not express to y'all what that means to me. Holy City Quartet is not into the charts and radio and other industry stuff. That stuff is great and has it's place. We are into making a difference in a life that could change that life. Maybe one day someone will say on a message board that Holy City Quartet is the reason they are singing Southern Gospel Music. Better yet, they could say that HCQ is the vessel God used to save my soul.

There is no greater award than that.

Mike, that sounds kinda like me. all the awards and all well, I want mine in Heaven not here on earth. here on earth is something I have to keep clean. pretty sure you feel around the same way. am really wanting to get a cd of yours now. that is icing on the cake there. God bless you guys and your ministry.

Amen Brother! I'll never be selected as anyone's favorite tenor on this forum or any other, and my quartet may never sing on a NQC stage, but based on responses we get at services, it appears as if God is using even us to make a difference in lives. I can testify to the fact that singing in CrossAnchor Quartet has certainly blessed MY LIFE as I meet people in churches across SC and share a special time with them.

We just got back from Bartow FL last weekend. 8 hours one way from here. This weekend we are headed to VA. 7 hours one way. Depending on what part of AL a Saturday night, Sunday morning weekend will get us there. Our God is good and He will provide.

I will be glad to. I don't have any contacts really up there and I don't do dry calls. We use word of mouth from folks who have seen our ministry. It works, we have had over 80 dates per year since we started in late 2001. We can only book Saturdays and Sundays because our bass singer is in Charlotte NC(3 1/2 hours up I-77) and tenor is in Fayetteville NC (3 1/2 hours up I-95. (Has anyone seen the price of fuel lately ).

I understand. After I get your 'Oakland CD' if I hear about anyone looking I'll pass your info to them.

D.Ann,

We haven't yet sung upstate but mainly because we haven't gotten an invite! But we try our best to sing "wherever" when opportunities come up. We sang last Sunday evening in Gilbert at a Homecoming Celebration for a serviceman who has just returned from a 15 month deployment in Afghanistan. That was special!

QTman,

Thanks for the kind words! It's truly amazing what God can do with imperfect vessels when we allow Him to.

As to singing in AL... sounds like a ROADTRIP!!! I'm ready!

But actually, the lady who booked us for the church we sang at last Sunday is from AL and asked if we would be interested in singing there... that she could line up some services for us. I'll keep your profile handy and will PM you if that develops.

Holy City's "Old Is Good" project is in. It is a tribute to the Oakland Quartet. I told DeeAnnBailey I would let her know when it was here. You too CrossAnchor.
