I saw them live in 2006 and got to talk with them for a while. I would love to see them again but they haven't been anywhere close to where I live since then. They are a great bunch of guys!

MsJudy, I would not throw rocks. I agreed with your post. Sam and Drip made excellent sense with theirs as di the others. just want this thread to be a way that people can support and get names out of groups that someone might not have heard of. a way to get groups reconized more than just a 3 town radius(((just an example))).
Jeff, am so jealous.  . really though, I plan on seeing them in concert one day soon. I love their singing

Thanks TQ. Go to my site and check out out some lesser known whom I work with. Their sound might just surprise you. Faith 3, Debbie Bennett, Alabama Spirituals, & Robert Matelski. Not sure my webmaster has all on there as of yet, she's kinda in the middle of "remodeling" the site........

looking now MsJudy. who knows, this time next year my group might be there I will be starting. of course will have its own sub-genre of sub-genre. 
figured kinda SG/country/bluegrass/rock/rockabilly/50's sound/bluesy will fit the bill

I have been blessed to volunteer with an association that helps promote lesser known groups from MS. We have several talented groups that come to mind. One of my favorites is an all male trio called "Legacy of Faith" from Starville. Their sound is a mixture between Greater Vision and Paid in Full. They open up for quite a few national groups at venues located in Northern MS. Great Christian guys too, I highly recommend this group.

ok a question. have heard from some in florida who have the cd of them and wondering what people think. Is the Browder's a good cd to get? from what am told is some spirit filled singing.

I would have to agree. I have never seen this group live but stumbled across their latest album on iTunes. I was impressed! I thought they also had a tad of the Booth Brothers sound as well, especially on the song "His Love Is Forever". I would like to see this group in concert sometime.

Ms Judy don't you worry about rocks hon, You made a valid point. I'd say just about all Full Timers were part timers at one point and somebody had to give them a chance. Besides they can't be everywhere so these big churches, promoters and so on ought to be giving local groups a chance. One in the Cleveland/Chattanooga area is a mixed trio called Stronger For It. They just completed their 1st cd and it is good. They're new but their harmony is nice. I think a guy who played for the Bishops produced and recorded it.

Reading all your answers to this thread and realize how happy you'll are that don't only have the "well-known" groups and artists, but also a bunch of not so well-known. As far as I know, we only have a few SG-groups in the entire country of Sweden. Vocalsis, One Way Brothers and the one I'm singing in myself, Rejoice Gospel Quartet. That's what comes to my mind right now.
I do know a good group in the US though, Vertical Praise. I think they are based in Virginia somewhere. And of course my friend Brent Joiner from North Carolina, but he only does solos.

What gets me riled is these churchs & promoters who say "we don't have groups we don't know".....DUH....like one poster said, they ALL were basically unknown at one point....somebody give them a break....PLEEZ.....I hear plenty of lesser known groups who can out sing many who grace the NQC stage! HA. Also, I've gotten this remark from pastors & promoters, "yes, I got your press kit, Loved the group/artist, but am in the middle of a meeting, I'll call you back in about 30 minutes"....thing is, their 30 minutes NEVER come............can't understand why they feel the need/desire to flat out lie...........all they have to do is say YES or NO, we don't care for their music or their style........also this is a good one....."I really don't do SG," from a promoter NOW, then you see that ALL he books is SG.........................Oh well, God knows where their heart is, and and He knows how they tell stories, so you can believe it when I say, "God's gonna get you for telling fibs."

Thanks, Ms Judy,All the full time groups are still local to somewhere.
I really hate the term "local group", although we are local to somewhere,also.
I prefer to say we are a professional part time quartet, and I feel that way or I would be singing with someone else. I love reading all the post
so keep 'em coming. There are a lot of good part time professional groups today that can evermore sing.

A couple of my favorites in this area are One Voice from Marion, IL, and River City Qt., from Henderson, KY. I agree with the earlier remarks about Called Out. I have seen them in our area, and really liked them.

Bill have wondered where River City Qt. is from. is this the same ones with the cd called Revival?
if so, I LOVE the version of I Wanna See Every Little Thing That John Saw

If you think it's tough for yoour group to get into churches locally, try getting church bookings as a solo artist. I've only had two Sunday evening services since the first of the year and only have one more scheduled in the near future.
But I love singing for the Lord so much I'll go anywhere anytime to sing. So I sing in a lot of Hardee's and Burger Kings for occasional tips. But when you get to see a customer come in with a world of cares on their shoulders and leave a few songs later with a smile on their face it gives me a feeling inside that no amount of money could buy. Sometimes I even get to personally witness to and pray for people. That's what it's all about to me.
I also have 4 monthly bookings to sing in area nursing homes where I'm just singing to brighten the day of those wonderful senior citizens. There is no chance of a financial blessing at those but I've never left one of those yet where I didn't feel blessed inside.
Even though I'd be thrilled to sing for love offerings every week instead of spending 2 to 3 hundred a month of my on money on my ministry, at this time the Lord is giving me 10 to 12 chances to sing His praises every month for groups of 10 to 100 and maybe, just maybe, something I sing or say will turn a lost soul to Jesus.
BTW the roga in my handle is my abbreviation for Rossville, Georgia.

They had it but didn't even bother to bring it! I don't think they were too new, just failed to do something that would have helped them. At least they were honest, eh, Ms.Judy? LOL!
