From Girlfriends in God, I read something this morning which really got my attention because it is SO true for me:
At times, we can long for something so desperately, that we just can't stop thinking about it. The problem with me is that I'm often longing for vapors. I want things that are neither eternal nor important in the grand scheme of things. King Solomon referred to this in the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes as "chasing after the wind." It just seems that my flesh is constantly battling the God-seeker in me. Can you relate?
Ecclesiastes 4:6 (NIV)
"Better one handful of tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind."
Father,
Please give us tranquility today in the midst of "toil and chasing after the wind".
Empty our heart of longings that are not for Your glory and replace them with longings for You.
We want Your Holy and Pure PEACE with our hearts kneeling at the feet of our Savior.
In Jesus' Holy and Precious Name,
Amen.

Soooo, so true of most of us. What makes the problem worse is that we don't always realize that we are striving after temporary vapors.

Colosians 1:9-11 I pray that God will fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding, and that you may live a life worthy<< of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, And that you be STRENGTHENED WITH ALL POWER according to His glorious might so that you may have GREAT ENDURANCE and patience WITH JOY.
This is prayer is from God's Word, He honors His Word,
pray this prayer, meditate on it, claim it,
It's worked for my Wife and I, pray it and thank God in advance for the answer.

Dear Lord,
I thank you so much for the times in my life when you sent your peace and a knowledge that all was going to well. I don't understand how it happens, I just know I'm grateful for it. Lord, you alone know all that my children and myself have faced in our lives and you know how much we need your peace throughout all the situations we struggle with. We don't understand why things happen, but we do understand that you love us and are with us no matter what. Please send your peace, your protection and your comfort to my family. Heavenly Father,
Grant us peace in our spirits.
Give us Your Peace which is beyond our understanding.
I pray for peace in our nation and around the world.
I pray for peace particularly in Jerusalem and Israel and throughout the Middle East.
Lord, everything going on is so beyond my grasp . . . all of the war and pain . . .
All I can do is leave it in Your hands and pray for peace.

Thank you for being ever-present. Thank you for giving your Son, Jesus Christ to pay the penalty of our sins and make us at one with you.
