Hey, the UPS guy just came knocking at my door with a package... I think I need to order some more stuff so he can come back!!

How about Singleton???

Hmmmm, great idea! But I'm sure the next person in line to have him wouldn't be too happy with me. Maybe someone can send me something. Oh, oooh, maybe one of the guys can send himself.

Michelle, do you know how to do the bend-and-snap? Or do you need to rent Legally Blonde to learn how to do that?

I SO adore that movie! It's one of those that I'll watch umpteen times, and I never get tired of it. If I'm just feeling sort of blah, I'll watch Legally Blonde, and voila, it makes me laugh, I feel better!

Oh, that's perfect!! I love that movie! It puts me in a good mood when I'm feeling blah too.

Actually, I was thinking about the book "how to get a date worth keeping" where the author responds to women who say that God will just bring a guy too them... they don't need to do a thing. He says that unless they want to marry the FedEx guy, they'd better get out of the house!

Yeah. I have a real problem with people who say things in favor of "simply" waiting for God to provide. God does supply all of our needs, but I believe He expects us to do our part in making reasonable efforts to get things through the strength, gifts, and talents He has given us.
Certainly no one would seriously suggest that the way to get our daily bread is to sit on our couch and pray for it without doing anything to attempt to earn money and go buy food.
Certainly no one would seriously suggest that the way to get a job is to sit home and expect it to knock on the door.
Yet people will seriously tell you to do that to get a spouse.
Yes, God may sometimes choose to supply our needs by bringing things to us on a silver platter, as it were, but I think that requires more faith than most of us have, and I don't think He makes it a general practice. After all, Genesis says that God cursed the ground for our sake, and Ecclesiastes (I think) clarifies that by saying that our labors and sweat to get our food are for our exercise. I don't think praying couch-potatoes is what God wants for His Kingdom. There is a time for praying and a time for action, and just like inhaling and exhaling, the one isn't much use without the other.

I don't normally post in this thread, but I'm wondering what ever happened to that two possible couple that were flirting heavily a couple of weeks ago??? I'm curious. I think they'd make a great couple and I actually prayed about them. Any new developments? Haven't seen one of them around. Does anyone know who I'm talking about?

I haven't seen or heard from them in a while. Of course, everything in this thread is "all in good fun", so who knows?
