Well I went in for my appointment and I was kinda surprised by my doctors response. She is recommending that I take Clomid. I told her about the bleeding, etc. Then she asked if we wanted to get pregnant and I said we did. So she said well lets do Clomid. I guess by helping ovulation it will help stop the bleeding. She is concerned about my bleeding but she doesn't want to put me on BC because we want to TTC.....plus BC tends to make me anxious. So ya, interesting. I thought she would put me on BC but I guess not. So here we go...

To me personally that would be a red flag of a bad doctor...or rather a doctor that wasn't really interested in treating the CAUSE of the bleeding. I went through 4 doctors before I found one that finally looked at my charts and said, "Oh yeah, you've got PCOS, we'll run some tests, but that's what I believe you have based on your charting.". One of the original 4 that I saw in CA put me on Clomid. It did absolutely nothing for me, since it didn't address the PCOS. I was annovulatory because of the PCOS and no amount of Clomid was going to help me get pg.

I would personally want the blood tests (hormone, etc. for PCOS) run and if my doctor wasn't willing to do that or wanted to just prescribe some Clomid without finding the underlying cause of the extreme bleeding then I'd be finding a new doctor. Incidentally, another red flag of a 'fertility specialist' that isn't well versed in ACTUAL causes of infertility, would be her desire to just slap the hormonal band aid of the Pill on the situation. The Pill is a bandaid...it doesn't actually treat the underlying causes of PCOS, but rather, for some women (never for me) can regulate their hormones sufficiently for a time (usually a short period of time) which can enable them to get pregnant.

Did you see a Reproductive Endocrinologist or just a regular OB/Gyn that 'specializes' in infertility?

I'm not going to be testing for awhile. We're not ready to TTC yet, but merely getting ready for when that time comes (making sure there's nothing wacky going on with my body). There's a long story, and I don't really want to dive into it here as both DH and I are both on this forum.

Good idea! I charted for about year before we started TTC, mainly for birth control, but I charted several months before the wedding in order to have a good idea of my body's patterns for when the time came. You'll thank yourself for it!

Question...

This is my first month to be using an OPK, and I'm just wondering-- do I wait for the LH surge line, OR should I still time IC by the presence of EW CF? We've been using the FAM since getting married, and have used it to TTC for 3 months without success, bit it's hard waiting for a line to appear instead of watching for CF.

Thanks!

So I had a huge temperature spike this morning, and I think I ovulated last night. I guess only time will tell. My temps have been a little whacky compared to last month's temps. I normally spend at least a few days at my normal temp of 96.4, but I've only had one day below 97 this cycle. Has anyone ever seen such a large variance in temps from one month to the next?

Here is my CHART

I would start making sure you are with your husband every other day once you start seeing EWCF. Then once you see get a +OPK, do it every day at least 3 or 4 days after. Doing it both before and after gives you the best chance of catching the egg, since the swimmers can live for a few days once they are inside.

I keep feeling a sharp cramp on my lower right side and in my back a little. . .it almost feels like period cramping except it's only on one side and it's way to early for my period. In fact I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating right now. I've never cramped during ovulation before, is that normal?

Ok, good to know. I guess I've just never really paid attention during ovulation time and just written any cramping off as indigestion or something.

I wouldn't say I cramped, but I definitely felt ovulation pains most months, enough to realize I usually ovulate from my right side. I think in the whole year+ I've charted I only felt the pains on my left side 4 times. From my understanding, ovulation pains are a GOOD sign as it means you're having a strong, healthy ovulation.

I have a CL cyst on my left side again this pregnancy, which makes 3 pregnancies from the left side. Oddly enough, my right side is the one that I have the worst trouble with as far as PCOS. It is always covered in little cysts and my left one usually isn't. Interesting, eh?

Hmm. MMar, it can be normal but they look like PCOS charts to me. You are getting a good, clear ovulation pattern though which is really one of the most important things.

Ok, it's only day 19 of my cycle so I know it's way too early for this to be a pregnancy symptom. . .but boy am I tired! I fell asleep on the couch during Thanksgiving yesterday, BEFORE I ate the turkey. lol. Guess I need to start getting a few more zzzzz's at night instead of playing on Facebook until the wee hours of the morning.

Hi ladies.

This has been covered before but is it possible to be pregnant but still have spotting? After using the bathroom this evening I noticed very, very little blood on the toilet paper. I guess I will know more in the morning or the day after to see if that turns into a flow. But I thought I would ask anyway.

This is our second month. Hubby and I have accomplished a huge milestone in terms of the process so that is great news. And I am also starting the process of getting healthier and eating the right foods (as well as avoiding ones that you should stay away from when trying to get pregnant). Not doing anything too strenuous so I think I will incorporate some moderate exercise like speed walking.

Yes, you can have spotting and be pregnant. I haven't with either so I'm not really sure how much is typical (if there is such a thing).

Yes, especially in the beginning when the baby is implanting in your uterus. I had spotting for a couple of days around the time I got a +HPT. I also had some cramping around the same time. It was just the baby settling in.

What is spotting anyway? Is it what you see on a pad or what you see on the bathroom tissue? Is there a difference in the consistency?

Oh and my lower back is more sore than the usual monthly back pain. It shoots down a little to my left leg.

I'm on day 21 of my cycle. . .ovulated on day 14 I believe so that makes me umm. . .8 days PO.

This morning I started feeling a little crampy like my period was going to start, but no spotting as of yet. If it's my period it's almost a week early, but if it's from implantation I'd think I'd see some blood wouldn't I? When I got pregnant with my daughter I started cramping and spotting right around this time.

Ooohhhh how I hate waiting!
