Hey there APZR. Good to hear from you. Last night we finally pulled the motor out of the boat. It's a Ford 5.0L. We used a couple tow straps, a chain fall (aka chain hoist) and a tree. It was funny to see the looks on people's faces when they saw a chain fall hanging from the tree. Everything went quite well. The wind was blowing pretty hard, but the motor made for a nice plumb-bob. After we got it up in the air, we drained the oil and the anti-freeze, removed the starter, the torque converter, the flywheel, motor mounts, and lowered it into the pickup bed. I had a stepladder nearby, so I draped the chain fall onto the ladder when we pulled the truck out. Then it went off to my friend's house and onto an engine hoist and then finally onto an engine stand. The whole thing took a couple hours. When I got home, the wind had blown over the step ladder. It was dangling from the chain fall.
