Matthew 28:19-21 - Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age. God's covenant promise "I will be with you" has always been linked to mankind's need for courage to face the impossible. The great commission provides more interesting reading for those who remember what kind of men God was giving His charge to -- greedy, prideful, angry, and self-centered. Yet Jesus called them to change the world. Question To Ask Myself Do I believe that Jesus can overcome my shortcomings and still use me to do His kingdom work? Albert Finch www.thekeys2kingdom.com

"Do I believe that Jesus can overcome my shortcomings and still use me to do His kingdom work?" " Only let us live up to what we have already attained." Philippians 3:16 Stop trying to be perfect, and do the things you already know. You'll be put to use.

Looking away (from all that distracts) to Jesus who is the Leader and the Source of our faith (giving the first incentive for our belief) and is also it's Finisher (bringing it to maturity and perfection). He for the joy (of obtaining it's prize) that was set before Him, endured the cross despising and ignoring the shame and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 (Amplified Bible). For me Jesus is saying, look at me and not your surroundings for I am your Leader and source of your faith and I will bring your faith to maturity and perfection (which is something I as a human cannot do or conjure up, which takes the pressure off of me), then He goes on to say, I want you to know I considered the cross with pure joy, thumbing my nose at it and totally ignoring the shame because I knew I was going to redeem you which is a prize for me and I am now seated in my rightful place to intercede on your behalf when charges are made against you, and I did all of this because I love you and one day we will be together throughout eternity.

Thanks to the newbies for their post, (to this thread) Matthew 9:29 “Be it done to you according to your faith.” Our faith in God grows greater as we recognize the greatness of our God. AdamsEve

I always heard the saying "the reward for hard work, is the opportunity to do more" I tweeked that, to say that "the reward for great faith, is the opportunity to show more" God will continue to show you more and more opportunities to trust in Him, rather than chariots, horses, and riders. It's a continual thing-No "graduation" until we see him face to face.

Luke 2:44,45 - But supposing Him to be in the company they went a day's journey, and they sought Him among their kinsfolk and acquiantances; and when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. Likewise, many of us have become so consumed with our battles that we fail to notice Jesus is not with us on our journey. Jesus' parents returned to where they had last seen Him; so also must we. To renew us, God is bringing us back to our most recent encounter with the living Christ. To reach our place of breakthrough, God is bringing us back to the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. Albert Finch www.thekeys2kingdom.com

Acts 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Many books can inform but only the Bible can transform. AdamsEve

Matthew 16:25 - For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for my sake shall find it. Following Him always leads to the cross. His triumph was the cross, and it is ours too. If we are in Christ we are to be dead to this world. It is impossible to offend a dead person. It is impossible for a dead person to feel rejected or abused. If this is true we can respond to any situation with God's love. Albert Finch www.thekeys2kingdom.com

Luke 13:4-5 “Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem? “I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” It’s never too soon to repent, But soon it may be too late. Ephesians 2:17-19 - And He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household. In 2 Corinthians 13:5 we are exhorted to "test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!" One of the primary tests of whether we are continuing on the path of life is by the peace in our life. Jesus is the prince of peace, and if we are walking close to Him there will be a peace in our life that exceeds anything that can be know in this world without Him. Things for Me to Consider If there is lack of pece in my life, then I have drifted from Him. What has come into my life that has begun to eclipse my relationship with Him? ORIGINAL: Aliosias Question To Ask Myself Do I believe that Jesus can overcome my shortcomings and still use me to do His kingdom work? I think that's the question I've been asking myself lately. This is such an area of unbelief for me -- in the sense of "I believe! But help my unbelief!!!" as that father cried out to Jesus (I forget which Gospel that account is in) about his son's healing. Thanks for posting that one.

ORIGINAL: chaimsmom Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up wings and soar with Eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint." I always thought that "walk and not be faint" was kind of a let down, compared to the other two promises. What's the big deal about walking? Then my husband got sick, and I realized that for some people walking from the bedroom to the bathroom was the equivalent of running a marathon. Without looking in Strong's, I venture that the Hebrew word used is not the English equivalent for 'ambulate'. Perhaps 'conduct', as the progression of our life?
