From GV newsletter:

Next year, we're teaming up with our friends, Legacy Five and the Pfeifers for a special event over the July 4th weekend in the nation's Capitol... "Celebrate Freedom in DC" !

This two-day, three-session event will be held at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Reston, in Reston, Virginia, just four miles from Dulles International Airport and just off the infamous "beltway", so it's very easy to get to.

We've also invited Christian-comedian, Dennis Swanberg to keep us laughing, and to inspire us, as only he can do. We will also have a special segment of the program planned to honor the attending Veterans, who have paid the price for the freedoms we enjoy.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday November 3, and since seating will be limited, you'll want to reserve your space early for the best seats. The price will include seating, plus two-nights lodging at the Hyatt Regency Reston.

We were in DC for July 4th a couple of years ago and had an AWESOME time, I'd love to go back but doubt it will be in the budget next year!

Have we met? I don't think we've had our picture made. LOL

Yes, we have met a few times (usually when I'm handing you money), but I don't give out my name to just anybody.

Seriously, I live down the road in J. City and have enjoyed GV in concert many times.

Gerald, he is a cousin of David Hoskins but we don't hold it against David though.
But be nice to him because you may need a local lawyer one of these days.

Then he can hand me money.

I had gathered from some of your earlier posts that you lived somewhere near Rodney, or at least that you drive on the old A.J. Highway regularly. You should put your picture up as your "avatar", so the next time I see you, I'll know who you are.

I enjoy viewing the Griffin manor.

I have had my picture as my avatar on occasion. Until I put it up again, just imagine a slightly taller, slightly thinner, much more handsome David Hoskins.

Ella Claire Waldroup has arrived! Ella was born last night (8/2) at 6:33pm at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. She weighs 5 pounds, 9 ounces, and she measured 19.5 inches.

Mom (Missy), and baby (Ella) are doing great...as are Dad (Jason), sister (Abbie), and brother (Jon)! The whole gang will be coming to Morristown from the hospital for a few days before heading back to Texas.

Welcome to the world, Ella!

So I posted this in the "Recent Concert" thread, so if I'm not supposed to post it here, too, tell me!!!

I went to see Greater Vision tonight and...oh my goodness. SO amazing!

First of all, I love Jacob! He's cute as he can be and seems like a really nice guy. His voice was in FINE form tonight, that's for sure! He did a great job of being just annoyed enough with Gerald making fun of him, haha.

And then there was Gerald...boy, was he ON tonight! He was absolutely hysterical. There was a lady in the front row that kept talking to him throughout the show and at one point Gerald mentioned that they were going to be filming a new piano vid at NQC this week. So the lady shouts, "Save me one!" He looks at her for a minute and then goes, "What?" "Save me one!" "I'm not gonna do that! You want me to take something brand new and save it for you? Do you have 20 bucks?" So the woman, who has to be 65-75, stands up and pulls out a 20 dollar bill and walks it up to Gerald. At first he just looked at her and then he busted out laughing and said, "Well you can say goodbye to that!"

So a little while later he mentioned a CD package they were selling (Which I bought and is amazing...) and she said, "Oh! I want one!" So Gerald starts laughing and says, "Well buy one!" And she gets up and hands a 10 dollar bill to Jacob and then to Rodney and then goes and sits back down as she glares at Gerald. Haha. Then Gerald said, "You realize, ma'am, that you've now given us more than you put in the offering!"

It was great.

And the show was just amazing. Rodney talked about his father-in-law's salvation experience and the guys just looked like they were having a blast.

I got to talk to the guys afterward and they were SO great, I'd never met them before! So as I was leaving I look to my left and then look back to the people I was with: "Is that Scott Fowler?" "What?" "Over in the corner!"

So sure enough Scott was there and I got to talk to him, too!

GREAT NIGHT!

So Scott was there to see how a real SG group does it, huh? Just Kidding!!!!

Glad you enjoyed yourself! And as far as I am concerned, it's fine to post both in the recent concert AND this thread!

I understand that GV is releasing their new CD tomorrow at NQC. I can't wait to get my hands on it when the exhibit hall opens on Thursday. So, any of you that get there before me, PLEASE don't rub it in if you get your copy first! I don't know if I could stand it!!! I'm taking my little portable CD player with me and when I get my hands on my copy, you'll find me in the nearest chair listening to it!

Donna, just grab Rodney when he comes off the bus and demand a copy.

Tell him you have a friend who will egg his house if he doesn't fork it over.
