I can't believe nobody has started one of these! I think it's fitting that L5FanLady starts it, don't you?? lol Haha! I beat GVfan to the draw!

Ok, a thread to talk about Greater Vision; anything you like or dislike (like more, I hope).

HAVE FUN!!!

Great people. Great family men. Godly men. Great singers. Gerald is one of the best if not the best group managers around right now.

I remember the first time I saw Greater Vision. The group at that time consisted of Gerald, Mark, and a young'un named Chris Allman. Man they could sing. Just for the record, my parents attend Chris Allman's church now. It's called the Church at Burlington. If y'all ever come down this way, let me know and I'll tell you where it is.

I know. I'm giving a plug for a church I don't even attend. But once you meet Chris face to face, you'll understand why. He is without a doubt one of the greatest pastors I've ever met.

Hats off to you, L5FanLady! I've thought many times about starting a GV thread, but I am SO PREJUDICED toward GV that I thought y'all would think I'm "over the top."

Greater Vision was one of the first SG groups I ever saw and I've been crazy about them, their music, their ministry ever since. There's a lot of great gospel music and ministries out there, but theirs just speaks to my heart in a different way than all others. Their music encourages me when I'm down, it helps me relax when I'm weary and it reminds me of Who is in control of the world and my life! I'm not being egotistical when I say that I believe God put Greater Vision on this earth to make a difference in my life! I just love those boys and the God they sing about!

I'll have you know, GVfan, that Gerald himself helped me to name this thread. I've been thinking about doing this for two days now, wondering why nobody else has! Only I couldn't think of a good name to call it. He said he'd leave the name up to me, and that their next recording is "Everyday People" so I could go from there basically. Do you like the title??

Hope you don't mind me sharing that, Gerald.

I pass Rodney's house about every day (I think he still lives there) and I always think of the great songs he writes and how much I enjoy the group.

They are one of the hardest working groups in the business and I think that this has a lot to do with their success.

A wonderful, classy, polished professional group of "everyday people" whom God has blessed for their faithfulness; I met these guys at NQC and I was very impressed with their genuineness (is that a word?).

Tina,

The title seems very appropriate to me.

GV do seem to be "everyday people" just going about our Lord's business, but with great talent and extra hard work from real hearts of love for the Lord. May God continue to bless them & Holy Spirit encourage & strengthen them.

Diane

I'm surprised nobody started this before now.

And since nobody has mentioned anything they don't like about Greater Vision, I think I will!

NOT!!!

Just kidding guys. I think they are a fantastic group and good all-around guys.

And I still think they are the best dressed group in SG.

They are a great group of guys, I almost said 'bunch of guys' but bananas come in bunches - hhmmmm, maybe bunch would be appropriate!! I really enjoyed them in AL last weekend, they did a tremendous job.

I do have to tell this, the Mark Trammell tribute planned by his wife LaResa and some of their good friends was awesome. He got a plaque from Daywind honoring the 12 hit projects he had been a part of of. He got a plaque from the Singing News with a clock on it (timeliness is VERY important to Mark), he had a gift from LaResa and Nick and another gift from Steve, Dustin and Eric, they did a powerpoint tribute it as so neat! Then MTT sang, after they finished and Greater Vision came on, Gerald talked about Mark and what a great guy he was and what a great tribute it had been. Then he said "It was great, I was so emotional, I was waiting on them to roll the casket out! Mark, I bet it was like being at your own funeral!"

Of course we all were rolling with that one. I have to say I truly enjoyed several of their new songs but none more than the one that talks about the Bible saying what it means! Gerald, I do hope that's your first radio release!!!

We are fortunate that they have been booked for the Truthseeker's Homecoming in our area every year for several years now. We also have been able to see them a few other places in our area including a Greater Vision Reunion with Mark and Chris, last fall. It would be a bleak year without getting to see Greater Vision in person at least once.
BTW, there is a grocery store in a nearby town called "Little Giant". I always ask my wife if she is going to shop at Gerald Wolfe's store whenever she goes there. (You older or longer term Gerald Wolfe fans will get that.)

Love the title, L5FanLady! I think it's very fitting for a group that is "down to earth" and very approachable. I can't wait to get my hands on the new CD at NQC.

That was the song I mentioned last week in the "concerts recently attended" thread. I'm glad someone else on here got to hear it too. Gerald told me it would be released to radio. It's gonna be huge!

Okay, what is everybody's favorite joke that Gerald tells?

For me it has to be the one from their Atlanta Celebration DVD with the Specks. The one Gerald tells about Rodney speaking at a graveside funeral service. I almost fell out of my chair when he got to the punchline!
