Wish we could be there. Sounds like many SG posters will be. We will see Triumphant on Thursday, Mar. 27 here in Pigeon Forge. but would really like to see Aaron Williams...................er.................................Wilburn. Always enjoy getting to visit with Aaron either before or after a concert. Good man, that Aaron, for sure. Must have rubbed off from our other good man, Sam.

Though It Rained and Rained. There was a great crowd in Rome to see The Inspirations and King's Heralds last night. The performance by both groups was great. King's Heralds did a wonderful job. Said NQC was talking with them about doing the same as they did last year, sing from the floor during stage change. The Inspirations don't know what to say about them. Martin knows just what songs to sing at just the proper time. That's the good thing with not having a scheduled program or tracks, you can sing what the Lord leads when He leads.

They did it again. Dove Brothers and Down East Boys together last night in Bowden. It was a great concert. Dove's sang 'Didn't it Rain' and 'Get Away Jordan' back to back in the second half of the program. Down East Boys joined them for a couple of songs at the close of the program. It was amazing at the number of people there that had never seen the Dove Brothers or the Down East Boys. Charles Story from Valley, AL who emcees at Hoofers was there. He sings with the James Brown Trio who opened the concert. Charles then carried out his duties and emceed the program. He's a wonderful person and if you are ever at Hoofers in LaGrange and haven't met him you should introduce yourself to him. He also has a radio and tv program in that area.

Hallelujah!! We managed to go to Marion to night number 2 of the Truthseekers' Homecoming Concerts last night. Kenny Bishop did not make it, due to travel problems. However, Greater Vision was there, and they were great, even much better than last year. There were not as many sold but empty seats last night, as the weather had improved. The ice was only in the off-street parking spots, and on secondary roads. We elected not to go on Thur nite to see Booth Bros and Crossway due to our own travel concerns. I was told that they had only 250 people in attendance, compared to 750 tickets sold on Thur nite. That concert was about the only thing that was not cancelled in the area Thur nite. Back to last night, Greater Vision did a wonderful job. Most of what they sang was from their Every Day People project, but they also mixed in some hymns, and older favorites, including He'd Still Been God, My Name is Lazarus, O, Holy Night, and one of my personal favorites, Pile of Crowns. Gerald also did a piano solo. Sometimes I think Rodney's singing talents get overshadowed by his songwriting ability and his general "simplistic" demeanour when Gerald is telling a story about him. I was reminded again last night about how good a vocalist Rodney really is, and he styles or presents a song in a manner second to no one. His rendition of Faces was just awesome, coupled with Gerald's introduction of the song. It was almost like you could see every word in Rodney's face and body language. Even though I have seen them do that song at least 4 different times, it remained fresh and inspiring last night. Gerald had mostly new stories, which was a plus, and they were really funny and not as long and drawn out as some of his past stories about Rodney. Jason has been suffering some health problems, especially with his back, and had just recovered from the flu. He did very well considering all that. He sang his audition song last night (Victory in Jesus), acapella, with the others joining him on the chorus. The acoustics in the Marion Civic Center are just outstanding, and that number was one of the highlights of the evening. Finally, their "diesel fuel" product special was probably the best bargain and value of anything I have ever puchased at a product table, with 3 cds, 2 dvds, and an autographed book, all for $40. We both felt so blessed by last night, a blessing that we needed considering the weather and family sickness with which we had been dealing. God Bless Greater Vision and keep them safe as they minister to others.

Last night a local church in our town had the Booth Brothers and the Kingsmen. We had sleet and ice most of the week and were quite concerned about the weather and roads, but that ended yesterday, so all was well. Both groups did a great job. This is the 26th February the Kingsmen have come to our town in their 51 years. Guess we must treat them alright.

We went to the final night of the Truthseekers Homecoming Concerts tonite. It had even better attendance, since a lot of the ice melted today. Kenny Bishop was there tonite and served as the MC, plus sang about 4 songs. He was the same smiling Kenny we remembered from before. The Lesters were last minute substitutes for Mike Speck Trio. The Truthseekers group found out late last night that Mike was sick, and literally could hardly talk. They called Brian Lester, and they had a cancellation for tonite and were at home in St. Louis, so they agreed to come to Marion and do the program tonite. It was the first time we had seen them since Dan Pitcher stopped singing bass for them, a few years ago. They were very good, with their lineup of Brian and his son Johnathon, and Ginger and her daughter Ginny. Ginny has really blossomed into a singer since we last saw her. Their portion was very good and very spirit filled. A highlight was their rendition of "He Is", the song that goes through all the books of the Bible, that we had previously heard Triumphnt Qt. sing. There is a 5th generation of Lester singers in the works, as Ginny's 4 year old daughter sang a solo, and also sang with the group, with a live mic, on a couple of songs. She is so cute, and can really sing for 4 years old, and is totally uninhibited. One other thing about Ginger Lester, she is a very talented piano player, and used to accompany them all the time. The daughter of the Truthseekers leader and her mom were singing an opening duet and the soundtrack failed about midway through it. They continued singing without it, but Ginger Pitchers was just off-stage, and she went to the piano and started playing the song, right key and at the right place in the song. They finished it with her playing without ever stopping or hesitating. We were impressed by Ginger being able to do that, and it was not even a Lesters song. Ivan Parker had the balance of the program. He is always a crowd favorite at Marion, and tonite was no exception. The holy spirit prevailed during his part also. I especially enjoyed "I Can Only Imagine". We are tired, but our cup runneth over. It was a great 2 nights.

I went Saturday 02/23/08 to see the Freemans and Greenes in Lincolnton NC. It was another wonderful concert. Both groups put on a top notch program. Here are a few highlights. *Freemans - They got things started with their new single "Cast In The Sea". From that first song the crowd was receptive and ready for a great night of music. I always enjoy attending concerts where the crowd appreciates the efforts put forth by the artists. The Freemans gave the crowd most of their hits including "Hello In Heaven", "He Chose Me", "The Next Step", "Something Out Of Nothing", "Children Of The Dust" and my personal favorite "He'd Still Been God". I love the Freemans 'kickin' version of this song! *Greenes - This was the second time this year I have seen the Greenes. The program was similar to the first, but they delivered. Brad Hudson is a talented vocalist. His performance of "Without The Cross" was amazing! And I am absolutely astonished when I hear Taranda sing. She is (8) months pregnant and the notes she hit on "God Is Singing Over Me" was mind blowing. Anytime I attend concerts with great mixed/family groups I know I won't walk away disappointed. There is something about a powerhouse female vocalist that adds so much to a group. Saturday was great!

We made it yesterday morning to see Three Bridges. They sang several songs during the service and did the invitation after the preacher finished. After that preacher said if you left your beans on and they are burning you can go on home otherwise you can stay and hear Three Bridges sing more. They sang a few more songs right after Church. During the service they sand 'I Am A Soldier' got several young people up on stage with them everyone really enjoyed the song. We got lunch, stopped at Wal-Mart and then went to hear the Wisnants last night. They did a tremendous job singing.

Sounds good, Bobby! I have yet to hear the Whisnants in a full concert but I'd love to. I'm having withdrawal symptoms --- no SG concerts this weekend!! My little 5-yr-old choir sang pretty well at church last night though, so I'm satisfied with that!
