ORIGINAL: Dinana It was a wonderful concert last night with Voices Won and The Crist Family. I love the way the Crist Family uses different groupings of their singers for different parts of songs - sometimes it's just the ladies, sometimes a duet of Tami and Rich, Jr., different trios, etc. I didn't take notes because I was busy getting videos, but along with Beyond the Great Beyond and Living with the Light On, I especially enjoyed He Is There - a slow, beautiful song. And I really enjoyed Joy's Gonna Come in the Morning and The Anchor Holds. Well, actually, I really enjoyed all of the songs that they and Voices Won sang. And I loved the ending when the two groups combined to do Canaan Land Is Just In Sight --- now that was a full stage!!! I haven't had time to reformat and post all of the videos, but here's a teaser of part of the final number. (You'll see that JimC had to move further from the stage to get a picture of all of them!!) Canaan Land Is Just In Sight I'll have the rest of the videos reformatted and posted tomorrow. I enjoyed the video, Dinana!

ORIGINAL: GVfan Oh, my goodness! What a great time we (Dinana, JimC and me) had at the Greater Vision concert last night! We got there very early (4:00 pm for a 6:00 concert time) because we expected an overflow crowd and because really bad weather was forecasted. We had gotten into the sanctuary and settled into our seats when the severe weather siren went off! We were in the midst of a torrential downpour, and a "Tornado Warning" was evidently issued by the National Weather Service. The guys had already set up their equipment and finished their soundchecks and Jason and Rodney were in the bus. Gerald was standing next to the piano talking to a few friends. And then the siren started blasting!!! Gerald asked what the siren was for and when someone told him, he headed for the bus to warn the others. All the people in the sanctuary were headed to the basement and the siren stopped. Someone reported that Rodney and Jason had come into the building when the siren started screaming, and that Rodney had brought their laptop computers in with him! The concert was wonderful, with the church's choir starting it off. They were really good! And they also had a band that played and it was really good! Then Greater Vision came to the stage and we had a marvelous concert. They sang for a little more than 1 1/2 hours, so I was very happy! When I leave GV's concerts, I am always so amazed at how good they are and how much of a blessing I receive. I cannot put into words how happy I am after one of their concerts!!! And, there was a huge added blessing last night. I got to sit next to Marjorie and Melvin Klaudt. What a dear couple they are! Mrs. Klaudt and I traded GV/Gerald stories (including his "big hair" when he was younger!) and just had a great time. Mrs. Klaudt never seems to run out of stories to tell and it was just so much fun listening to her. She and Mr. Klaudt will be at PraiseFest again this year and I am looking forward to seeing them. And, if you're lurking, , HI, CHIEFIE!!!! Y'all be sure to look over in the Official Prayer Request thread for a Prayer Request for the Klaudt's daughter. You are So right, Donna....last night was GREAT!!! Mike Leming and the Macland choir started off the night, and GV took it to the wall. We stayed to help them load out, and I can tell you, they really enjoyed Macland. I'll post my pictures as soon as I can get them uploaded. Picasa is having some issues today. Here's the PICTURES from Sunday night.

Well, I guess there is a point at which you are too close!!! That's such a small auditorium that I had to move almost all the way to the back so I could get the whole stage in my view finder!!

Personally, I did not attend any concerts this weekend :( However, I have a friend who's church was hosting the Anchormen. I coaxed him to tell me about it. He is not an SG fan per se, but does listen to it occasionally. I believe he really enjoyed it. He said there were about 200 people in attendance. Also, the anchormen just hired a new bass singer and it was one of his first weekends (if not the first) out. Another interesting note, if i'm not mistaken, Brian Elliot is back as pianist with the anchormen. My friends said that its a piano player that has been with the anchormen since he was 15...so putting 2+2 = Brian Elliot. I have not confirmed it, but it sounds EXTREMELY likely. The concert started at 6 pm and the guys sang till about 7. After a 5 minute intermission, the quartet sang till almost 8 pm. Great night of gospel music i'm sure. I have no idea of the set list or personell line up, but i'm sure alot of it was from "glory ahead". I wish i would have went and heard them, but i was busy at my home church. I would like to see them sometime...even though i really loved the sound of the former anchormen line up (now "driven"). haha

ORIGINAL: Dinana Thanks, Jim! Good pictures! And thank YOU for your videos, from both nights (Crist Family and Macland). I've watched them over and over, and I'm going to download them and put them on a DVD.

Monday, I got to see the Kingsmen for the first time( aside from a set at the NQC) They really put on a great concert. I was somewhat disappointed that they didn't have their band with them, but it was still great. There were plenty of highlights but some include: When I wake up to sleep no more The cross has won again My past is past God can save anybody, anywhere, anytime Meet me at the table I got their new dvds & cds, so I'll let you all know how they are when I get time to listen to them.
