Saturday night, June 2nd I had the opportunity to be in Corinth, Mississippi at the 10th Annual Leon Frazier Memorial Concert.

Crossway, The Freemans, and Three Bridges were the groups there performing.

All and all it was an outstanding night, I would love to do it all again. Well worth the 8 hour drive over there!

Sounds like you had a really great time. I am impressed by how far you drove! The longest I've driven to see my favorite group is just over 4 hours.

Donna, spread those wings!!!!! Learn to travel further!

I think she's talking about 4 hours each way. That's pretty good for a weekend concert, don't you think?

My furtherest for a weekend concert in recent years has been 7 hours each way - it was tiring and we drove one day, went to the concert, got a room and left to go back the next day.

Mrs. C and I drove over 10 hrs. one year to a Bill Bailey's concert in Wimauma (did I spell that right)(Kirk talley explained the name right well. He said he remembered it as "Why Mama".
But this was an all week concert.

We drove about 9 hours from the mountains of NC to Bonifay, Florida when David Hill was still with Gold City. We stayed as long as we could at the concert, but eventually had to leave because a hurricane (I forget the name) was headed straight for us. I remember hearing David turn to Mark Trammel upon seeing us and saying, "What state are we in?"

My favorite comment from a group is 'HOW far did you drive this time?' LOL Or better yet 'why didn't we see you last week? we were only 3(4 or so) hours from where you live.'

Lily Isaacs made similar comments to Mrs. C and myself one year. We had seen them in 3 different states, many miles apart and they were surpised to see us again. This was within just a few weeks of each other.

Last Labor day we did Table Rock, SC on Friday night, Gatlinburg, TN on Sat and Nashville, TN on Sunday. The Perrys were there all 3 nights and Tracy just shook his head. Libbi told me the other week, 'I've quit being surprised when you show up or where you show up'.

During the 70s with the Cats, it was not unusual to start out on Thursday night and end up on Sunday making every concert they did.

Wish I had the time to do that again. So many good kids around these days, it takes up more time to make them toys. Glad I have a good crew of elves.

Actually... no, I was talking about 8 hours each way. So 16 hours total driving this weekend. Yes... I am exhausted at work today. LOL

The farthest I've ever driven to be with Crossway in concert was 9 1/2-10 hours each way this February. 8 hours is a piece of cake for me now. lol

I love that too. LOL Scott Rogers with Crossway loves to be the one to ask me how far my drive was each time I go see them (which is a LOT). I don't know why he's even surprised when I tell him anymore. LOL

I didn't end concerts in Gainesville, I got up early Sunday am and went to Pigeon Forge. Friday Night with the Browns & Diplomats, Saturday night with Mark Trammell Trio, Greater Vision & Triumphant was not enough. Saw four Kingdom Heirs shows, two Triumphant and can't miss The Miracle Performance. You got good reports from Friday & Saturday night concerts. Kingdom Heirs were just as great and seeing Triumphant two more times put the icing on the Cake. Looking forward to Diplomats Homecoming this weekend in Villa Rica, Karen Peck, Dixie Echoes, Brian Free just to name a few of the many groups that will be there. Jerry Goff will be the MC both nights.

Robert, Triumphant, Kingdom Heirs, Miracle Theater and Tony's BBQ. What a combination. Just goes to show just part of what we have to offer here in East Tennessee for a few days get-a-way. So vacationers, come on over to see us. Thanks Robert for your post here and on T's BBQ thread.

Go ahead, rub it in. I would've loved to have seen Triumphant again, and I haven't seen the Miracle production yet this year. . . .

I wish I could make Villa Rica but I can't but I did see the Mark Trammell Trio tonight in Hendersonville, NC. They were great as usual and I totally enjoyed the entire service. The choir at this church was AWESOME, almost 200 folks on a Wednesday night and 1200-1300 folks in the service. The preacher preached in Corinthians and we are studying that at my church on Wed nights so I feel like I didn't miss my 'lesson'.

And what can I say about Mark, Eric, Dustin and Steve except - terrific as always!!!!

Just wanted to add that Mark Trammell Trio, the Kingsmen, and Ricky Atkinson & Compassion will also be in Villa Rica tonight with Karen Peck and the Dixie Echoes at the Diplomats homecoming. I kinda wish they had spread some of these out to be on the program with Brian Free tomorrow night.

I attended the Panama Praise by the Bay last night and am going again tonight. Last night was great! Jesse Dixon, Mark Trammell Trio, The Pfiefers, Cricket Lee, The Whisnants, and The Hoppers. Tonight will be Brian Free & Assurance, Ivan Parker, Collingsworth Family, Freemans and The Greenes with a couple of locals. God showed up and it was a good time...looking forward to tonight.
