Well, between Jim C and Dinana, I'm not sure I can add anything new about the Mark Trammell/ Triumphant/ Greater Vision concert last night in Gainesville, GA. I think all groups were in exceptionally fine form and I enjoyed every single minute of the (long) concert. I was sleep deprived (concert Friday night and very early rising on Saturday morning) and although I thoroughly enjoyed MTT and Triumphant, I really came back to life when Greater Vision entered the stage. Their music (and presentation) always speaks to me more than any other group. They did all my favorites, including several songs from their newest "Hymns Through the Ages" CD.

I got to meet DeeAnn and a couple of "lurkers" at the concert and that was fun. One guy saw me and thought I was Dinana! As a twin, I've always thought it's fun to fool people!!

After the concert I got another treat. The concert got out really late and people cleared out pretty quickly. So, I got to talk to Gerald one-on-one without a lot of other people around! Dinana took the picture for my new avatar. Gerald is such a fine man and I really enjoyed talking to him.

Sounds like ya'll had some great concerts!

Friday night, i had the priveledge to go to an "all night" gospel sing featuring: Jr. Combs and southern joy, the georgians, the reggie saddler family, Dixie Melody Boys and The Perrys.

It was a GREAT concert.

The concert started at 7:30 pm and finished a few minutes after 12 am.

Jr Combs and southern joy started the night, and did a FANTASTIC job. If you haven't heard them, you've missed out. They sing alot around my area (jacksonville, fl).

It was my first time seeing the georgians. They did a nice set of some original and classic quartet standards. They have a great lead singer...and all the guys were very nice and sounded good.

It was also my first time seeing the reggie saddler family...all i can say is WOW....they were a blast to watch and listen to. Reggie had the crowd eating out of his hand before the first song. He and his family are a great mixture of christian entertainment AND ministry. You can see that he cares for his audience.

Next up was the dixie melody boys. This was my 2nd time seeing them...and they were REALLY good! They have a really solid vocal line-up. In my opinion, they have one really great tenor who may or may not be widely known. I really enjoyed their set.

Last but not least was the perrys. They did exceptional! The crowd was really ready for them and enthusiastic, which of course, made the perry's sing even harder. Once again, they had solid singing all around. Joe, Nick, Libby, and Tracy did a wonderful job. Also, matthew holt did a tremedous job on the keys.

Each set of each group was extended. Everyone came back up and did a few songs, then all the groups got up and sang together ....then it was over.

The sound was pretty good for a big echoey building. There was also a good crowd with a good mixture of all ages. That was encouraging to see the younger people really enjoying good SG.

-that was my mini review

Upcoming concerts i'm looking foward to:
Taylor Campmeeting concerts this weekend (taylor, fl) Mike and kelly bowling, whisnants, Crabb family.
The Spirit of the Suwannee.

Y'all have been to great concerts and took good pictures. Love the avatars.

I would have loved to have seen GV/MTT/Triumphant.

Our next concert is June 30, and we are looking forward to it.

I went to another concert last night and I actually got in. I saw the Golden Valley Crusaders, the Telestials and the Land Of The Sky Boys at an outdoor park near my home. They had a fair turnout.

The GVC hosted the event. These guys are good friends of mine...bluegrass gospel music, and they're good at it. They did a few new songs I hadn't seen them stage before.

I can't remember if I had ever seen the Telestials before or not. I have heard of them for years. They were breaking in a new lead singer who has a strong stage presence.

I spent some time during the Telestials set up in the snack shack talking with Raymond McKinney, one of the original Kingsmen and a member of the Land Of The Sky Boys, as well as Jody Medford and Kim Black.

It started raining before the Telestials were finished, so we had to move "under the shed" for the Land Of The Sky Boys set. Medford is as solid on the bass part as they come...he excelled on cuts like "What A Morning," "After Awhile," and "Long Black Train." Ernie Phillips still has it, too. Kim Black is a dynamic lead singer, and Raymond does a good job filling in the holes at baritone.

I don't have them set up with a password. Have you ever used Kodak share? Since folks on my email list could see it (but maybe they all have signed up for Kodak share, I don't know) I didn't realize it was password coded to look at the albums.

Saturday night, June 2nd I had the opportunity to be in Corinth, Mississippi at the 10th Annual Leon Frazier Memorial Concert.

Crossway, The Freemans, and Three Bridges were the groups there performing.

Crossway:

Of course, I always always always love these guys and they can never do anything wrong in my eyes, but they were GREAT that night. lol They didn't sing long enough to suit me (they never do! :D) but because there were so many things happening time was shorter than normal. Not all the songs and not in the right order but... Victory in Jesus, Great and Awesome God, No Back Roads, Long Arm of Love, When I Hear the Thunder, Took It All Away, I Can Only Imagine, and Looks Like Love to Me,were some of the songs they did. I also got their newest, new CD "Road to Forgiveness" and let me tell you...it's outstanding. Everyone should get a copy of this album! It was produced by Matt McFarland...what a great job he did!

The Freemans:

I missed the first few songs of their set. They came on after the intermission and I was still back at the Crossway table visiting with the guys and Ms. Edwina, but once Ms. Edwina and I got back to our seats...we heard some great singing by The Freemans!! Joe, Chris, Darrell, Misty and Caylon...all of them sounded and looked great. Some of the songs that I DID get to really hear them do... What Judas Didn't Know, I Need a Drink, He'd Still Been God, The Lighthouse. They did a great job as usual and I love Sister Freeman a little more each time I see her and get one of those great big loving hugs. Bought their newest CD and it is also a great album. My particualar favorites are the drinking song and Put Me in That Crowd.

Three Bridges:

I had never seen Three Bridges before Saturday night. I had heard a song of theirs on Enlighten before and I knew it was doing really well on the charts...so I was excited to see how they were live. I was blown away!! These guys are fantastic. So full of energy and life, and such a great sound. Their normal tenor couldn't be with them that night, so they had a fill in...Tank (forgive me I can't remember the last name right now) but it didn't hinder them in the least. By the end of their set everyone was up and we were almost having ourselves a shoutin service by the time they encored "Feel a Little Song Coming On". Mitch (amazing lead singer, great vocals) was getting excited and really SINGING and it was hard to let them leave the stage. Some songs they did included: Cooling Waters, A Little Song Coming On, Stand Your Ground, In the Valley There is a Rock, Blessings All Around. I bought THREE of their CD's and made sure they knew they'd just gotten themselves a new fan.

All and all it was an outstanding night, I would love to do it all again. Well worth the 8 hour drive over there!

Sounds like you had a really great time. I am impressed by how far you drove! The longest I've driven to see my favorite group is just over 4 hours.
