We went, and enjoyed as usual. They sang a mixture of songs from their last 3 projects plus about 3 from their soon-to-be-released project. They also did "God Is Faithful" and of course, "4 Days Late". My two favorites were "Hold Me When I Cry" and "When It's Down to You & Me", which is one of the best non-radio songs I have heard. (I own the cd it is on.) They sang their new song "Last Night" at the end of the concert. It is a good one and should do well for them. We really like Karen and her entire crew. They are all so personable. Ricky and I talked afterward, as we always do. I asked him if he knew a guy who looked like Santa Claus. He said I must be talking about Tim from Pigeon Forge. He said he is a good old boy. If you read this Santa, you are as well-known as your alter ego.

We are leaving shortly to go see Karen Peck in concert tonite at Marion. If I get time I will post about the concert.

Is that the same "God is Faithful" as the Collingsworth Family does (written by Kim Collingsworth)?

Thanks billboy. Ricky is one of the best "Good Ole Boys" for sure. They are sweet people.

I believe Chris Binion wrote Karen Peck's "God Is Faithful". New River originally recorded "God Is Faithful" in the late '90s.

Okay, then it's not the same, since Kim Collingsworth wrote her family's one.

Thank you for that information!

I didn't know the answer Daniel. I am glad Seaton could help you out. Karen has sung that at practically every concert of hers I have attended. By the way, Ricky told me that they do not work off a set program. Karen tailors it on the fly, based on her feeling or read of the situation. That said, I am sure there are some songs they know they will sing, like the one being discussed, plus Four Days Late and Hold Me When I Cry.

I like knowing that about a group. It makes me more likely to attend their concerts; they aren't a group where I buy a ticket to hear just the same program I heard that group do a few months before.

As many concerts as I attend I am with you on this one. I like to go hear a group and know I am going to hear a few different songs than the last time I saw them.

That can be important.

Of course, with how rarely most groups come through my area, it's less of an issue with me. If I can only hear a group once every two years or so anyhow, it matters less.

WOW!!!! We went to hear Driven tonight and what a time we had. Jason, Alex, Chad and Will each did a tremendous job!!! They did some of my favorite songs "Somebody Touched Me", "Feelin' Fine", "The Plan of Salvation", "He Touched Me", "I'm Working On A Building", "I Must Tell Jesus", "Run the Last Mile Home" plus many others!

These guys have tremendous harmony and a great ministry. This was in a new Christian Supper Club. Every Saturday night there is a country show in this venue. A lot of folks that were there tonight don't normally go to SG concerts but since there was a concert where they normally go on Saturday night, they came.

Four people got saved night, that was a huge blessing! I look forward to hearing these guys again.

Mrs. C. and I will be going to the Mull Concert tonight to see Tony Gore and Majesty, Three Bridges and Crystal River at New Hope Church, Hwy 66, Sevierville, Tn. This is just off I-40, exit 407, south about 3 miles. If you are in the area come on by and join us. And in a post from Kerrlaw yesterday, Tony's restaurant will be open after the concert.

I went after work last night to Hickory NC to see CrossWay and Mike & Kelly Bowling. I had a great time. CrossWay did songs from their new recording A Beautiful Thing. This album is full of great music that strict Southern Gospel fans would enjoy. CrossWay mixes Southern Gospel with a Modern Country sound that fits them even better now that they're a trio. This was the first opportunity too see Mike & Kelly together. They were fantastic! They sang some of Mike's hits, some songs Kelly made popular with the Crabb Family and several classic Hinson tunes that made the evening for me. They also have a new song out that was just sent to radio. It is a cover of a McGruders song from 1990 that I recognized the moment I heard it titled "We Have A Savior". This trio has got a bright future in Southern Gospel music.

CrossWay: (1st Set) On My Way To Heaven / That's All / I'll Fly Away / Oh My My / Took It All Away / Long Arm Of Love / Jesus Loves Me / It Looks Like Love To Me (2nd Set) Surrendering / He'll Pilot Me (yes the old Southern Gospel classic)

Mike & Kelly Bowling: (1st Set) I Remember The Day The Lord Saved Me / Too Many Times / Trail Of Tears / Down On My Knees / It Ain't Over When It's Over / There Is Power In The Name Of Jesus / Don't You Wanna Go / We Have A Savior (2nd Set) There's Gonna Be Some Changes / Call Me Gone / Piano Solo (Jeff Snyder is a really good piano player) / Graceland / That I Could Still Go Free

I heard one of my favorite groups last night,The Perry's in Maple Ridge B.C. and they were awesome. They do Happy Goodmans songs better than anyone I've ever heard. I think Nick Trammell is doing a great job, I guess he comes by it honestly. His dad is one of the greatest baritone's to ever grace the gospel music stage.

Saw the Whisnants and Kingsmen last night.

Never heard or seen the Whisnants before, so I had nothing to go by. Thought they were pretty good.

Tried to set my mind to not really expect "the Kingsmen" from my youth, since I hadn't seen them since New Years Eve 1989. Would have worked if they hadn't done a lot of songs from the back catalog, not that I'm complaining. Ernie was as solid as I remembered (from 1983). Liked the lineup as a whole. I think the Kingsmen have the live drummer issue (meaning they're always too loud) resolved. Brandon sounded great, and I couldn't help but notice he had a smile on his face almost the whole time.

Didn't write down what they sang for a "full review", but it really is hard not to have a good time at a gospel concert, IMHO. If they're tourning near you, check them out.

They probably did a lot of back catalog songs because Ernie was with them...that's just my guess.

Just got home from the Mull Concert in Sevierville, Tn. It was great. Tommy Spencer, Crystal River, Three Bridges and Tony Gore and Majesty. They all did good. First time to see Tommy Spencer and he did a good job.
Crystal River's sounded good as a trio. Their new piano player, Tommy McKenzie did great. Did a wonderful solo. Dusty, their tenor, introduced his 1 month old baby. Her first concert.
Three Bridges great as usual.
Tony Gore and Majesty did a great job. John Lanier still has his dancing feet. And Calvin did good too. Enjoyed the entire evening.
Did I tell you they all did GOOD!
Next Mull sing June 30th. It will be a GREAT one. Will do seperate post for it. Tkts on sale Monday by phone.

I'm excited to see that you enjoyed the concert seaton! I always love to see when people go and enjoy a Crossway show. Look like they did some of my favorites. Too bad they didn't do Hallelujah Side for ya'll. Now THAT'S a treat!!!
And I absolutely love when Scott does He'll Pilot Me... with just Matt on the guitar, it sounds wonderful!

I plan on going down to see The Imperials tonight in Burleson... this will be the first time I will have seen them. Not sure what to expect!

Hey Santa,
I am coming over to the concert on Saturday June 30th. Hoppers, Booth Brothers and Ivan Parker; I am already anticipating it. I am making an entire day of it. I am hitting Dollywood in the morning to see Kingdom Heirs, going to Tony BBQ for dinner and then heading to the concert.

June 30th, that's the same night that Legacy Five, MTT, Greater Vision and Danny Funderburk at in Winston Salem, decisions, decisions. It's about the same drive for either so I just have to decide which one I want (no, which I'll do cause I want to do both!!!!)
