I also had the pleasure of seeing Spoken 4 at Parkview Christian Church in Sedalia last Sunday. As always, it was a wonderful and moving concert. The gym was packed with a very enthusiatic crowd and Spoken 4 rose to the occasion. What a moving and inspiring concert. If you haven't had the chance to hear this group, please make every effort to attend the next time they are in your area.

We went to Dix, IL., yesterday evening to see Talley Trio and Triumphant. We love both of these groups and enjoyed the evening. It was our first SG concert opportunity since the last week of February. Talley Trio did their usual good job of praising the Lord, and mixing in old and newer songs. A highlight for me was them singing "Jesus, What A Friend For Sinners", acapella. They also did "Searchin", which I had not heard them do for a couple of years, and had Scot Inman join them on the stage to help with that song. Another one that went over very well with the audience was "I've Got The Lord", with and without the recorded voice of Jake Hess. We have seen them several times, including 6 straight years at that venue, and Roger always puts together a great program. My only negative comment last night was there was too much bass in their sound, for the size and shape of the venue. We were on the second row at the end, and the bass tones from the speakers made my shirt ruffle. That was adjusted by the time Triumphant came on stage. Triumphant had to sing without David Sutton, who was on the bus suffering from Laryingitis. Jeff sang the tenor harmony, and they did not do any songs with a tenor lead. "Old White Flag" was probably the crowd favorite, as Clayton really does that well. "Scott did very well on "The Great I Am Still Is' and Eric sang one of my favorites "He Loves Me". They did several other new and old songs. One other funny situation was Jeff played "Skip to my Lou My Darling" on the harmonica and piano simultaneously, with Scotty standing behind him and reaching around and holding the harmonica to Jeff's mouth. Jeff also played his "Liberace Chopsticks" version. The groups sang some songs together at the end. The real highlight of that for me was "Sweet Beulah Land". Debra sang the first verse and Clayton sang the 2nd verse, with Jeff on the piano and that other group members singing on the chorus. It was beautiful. The whole evening was well worth our long drive and late hours.

Billboy. Triumphant Quartet was in Atlanta last night, again without David. They were their usual, polished, wonderful selves! I really enjoy them every time I see them! And, I got to see and hear Kirk Talley for the first time. He came off the stage and stood on the ground level for most of his singing, and it was great. He was very informal and talked and interacted with the audience a lot. He was suffering with a little hoarseness in his "mid range," but he did a wonderful job. I bought three of his CDs and have been listening to them almost non-stop since I got in my car last night. Really, Really enjoyed him! And........our very own Dana Russell (rogasinger) sang an opening song for the concert! I really wanted at least TWO songs, but the schedule was pretty packed with two groups, so he only did one. Dana has a beautiful baritone voice. I wish everyone on here could hear him (maybe Dinana will post a link to the video she took last night). Great evening!

It was a great concert. I really enjoyed when Kirk Talley and Triumphant sang together near the end of the concert. Awesome rendition of Step Into The Water.

I saw the Kingsmen in Oxford, AR Friday night. It was a great concert, the guys were really in a “mood”, so to speak! They started the night off with “The Next Cloud” and went right into “Meet Me At The Table”. Huggy sang “What A Day That Will Be” with such passion. Their next song was “When My Feet Touch The Streets Of Gold”, and when they received a standing ovation they spontaneously encored it! Ray’s solo was “Healing Stream.” Bryan stepped up and thanked everyone for coming out to the concert. He went on to say that they stayed the night in Horseshoe Bend, AR, and when they were on their way there, he told the rest of the guys, “There isn’t no church out here - they’re taking us out here to kill us!” (You would have to understand that this church was out in the middle of NOWHERE!) You probably would have had to been there to appreciate that joke, seeing as I had to drive up and down and around hills and when the car in front of me went down in the dip of the road it disappeared from sight. Bryan went into introducing Harold and Phil. When he said that Phil has been singing with the Kingsmen for four years he made a comment about being professional, and Phil looked at Bryan and said, “not with that tie”. Bryan pulled his tie from underneath his jacket and said, “you all probably can’t see what’s on this tie, but come by later and see it, it’s great.” Bryan had a rubber ducky tie on! Bryan went on to introduce the rest of the guys, and introduced Cody as their official piano player! Cody played “Shout To The Lord” as his piano solo. Then they sang “When They Call My Name” quartet style - piano and four guys! Huggy Bear was hilarious doing his tenor part on the chorus - the faces he makes as he sings, “I won‘t have to hesitate” are hysterical! They had Huggy and Phil interacting on the left, Bryan and Ray on the right, and on the chorus Ray would slide over and sing some lines to Cody. It was just great! Phil did a great job on “Sound From The Other Side.” Bryan gave his testimony and did an awesome job on “When God Ran”. All of the guys were really wound up on “When God Ran”, and they received another standing ovation! Now that I think about it, that crowd was on it’s feet quite often! Their second set started off with “Good, Good God” and Phil sang “Gospel Road” with such enthusiasm that you felt as if he were inviting you to “look him up“. Next, they sang a few requests: Just As The Sun Went Down, Amazing Grace, and I’ll Fly Away. They gave an alter call with “I Surrender All“. After that, Bryan asked, “Can we sing one more?” It wasn’t two seconds later and the crowd was on the feet!! They closed with “When I Wake Up To Sleep No More”. That was one of the greatest Kingsmen concerts I ever been to! They just keep getting better! ALL of the guys were wound up and they sang great song! I just have one more thing to say, Brandon, I really miss you on the drums!

Donna, Kirk was a regular at the Truthseekers' Homecoming concerts for several years, and we saw him several times. He was always a crowd favorite. We also saw him one time at Dix, along with the Talley Trio, and at least twice there singing with Ivan and Anthony as "The Trio", as well as solo acts. He has written a lot of great songs. "Serenaded By Angels" is one my wife and I used to do a lot, and is still one of our favorites. We would like to see Kirk perform again. It is kind of ironic that Triumphant appeared with the Talley Trio on Friday night and then with Kirk Talley on Saturday night.

Friday Night...Owensboro KY...Mark Bishop, THe Perry's, Hoppers & Gold City. Aaron Wilburn was there as well. The Perry's and Hoppers did incredible, Mark was wonderful as well. Gold City had their live band and it just never seemed to me that they were at their best. I also noticed, (for the first time & I have posted on another thread about this) but their volume was noticeably louder than any of the other groups. Overall though an wonderful evening. Then Saturday night The Lefevre Qt in Bedford, IN. Even with two sick guys they did an outstanding job and was loved by all in attendance.

The Gold City concert last night was awesome! Wow! They were on fire! They finally opened the doors & I got a second row seat that had no seats in front of it, so it was like a front row. Great place to take pics from (I hope!). They opened with a local Country/gospel act & then the guys hit the stage. I had seen all of them but Danny already & had gotten hugs & pics. They opened with I CAST MY BREAD UPON THE WATERS, & then came WHAT CHILDREN BELIEVE, WALKIN’ & TALKIN’ WITH MY LORD, BY YOUR GRACE, FOR YOUR GLORY, AIN’T THAT WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT, PREACH THE WORD, LOOK WHO JUST CHECKED IN, THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKIN’ ABOUT, AFTER AWHILE, TEACH ME LORD TO WAIT, I’M RICH, WHEN I GET CARRIED AWAY, IN MY ROBE OF WHITE, GET UP GET READY, THERE ROSE A LAMB, & they encored with MIDNIGHT CRY by request. Aaron had a funny bit during the evening where he sang a tune about a man who married a girl he didn’t know much about & learned a lot real fast! It was hilarious & he did it with a straight face! It was definitely worth the long drive & missed sleep!

I've got to check their schedule and see when they're going to be close to me again! I really, really enjoyed them when they sang with Greater Vision in Florida in February! I had forgotten just how great they are!

I just attended the Gaither "lovin life" concert in Ft. Worth. I saw many good groups, but was feeling kind of bummed out because I really missed all of the "old timers" who have gone on to be with the Lord, when out of nowhere this absolutely fantastic young man of 12 yrs. started singing "This is just what heaven means to me". He sounded so much like Vestal it sent a chill up my back. I think his name was Logan Smith, does anyone know anything about a website for him or any other information?

Attended the KWFC 40th Anniversary Concert last night in Springfield, MO. Mark Trammell Trio, Karen Peck and NR, The Kingsmen and Gold City with the new band of Gold. It was a great concert, great crowd estimated at about 3500. all the groups kid a wonderful job plus I have to say a big thank you to KWFC management for bringing in the Gold City band, many of you know I love the live band, nothing wrong with tracks and I understand why there are tracks but I still love to hear a live band. I almost didn't go but I'm glad I did. Will try to post some of the video I took of Gold City on youtube soon. I also videoed the Kingsmen singing "When God Ran" love that song it hits home everytime I hear it.

It was a great weekend! Two concerts in two days!!!! Saw the Crist Family and Whisnants on Saturday night, and Tribute Quartet on Sunday night! Really, really good stuff. And... I almost got to take Josh Singletary home with me! Gary Casto was going to auction him off to the highest bidder and I volunteered to be "it!" Unfortunately, Gary renigged, so I went home Josh-less! Wonderful concerts! And Gary did a fantastic altar call that had half the church down at the altar praying!

Marge and I went to see the "Voices of Lee" at Pinecrest Baptist Church in McDonough Georgia last night. The concert was a combination of Southern style Gospel, traditional songs and patriotic songs. If you ever get a chance to hear the Voices, don't miss them. Two of the members are attending Lee on scholarships from our Klaudt Family Foundation. The church was packed and many were bathed in tears. Several of the youth in the church came to the alter for the Lord to guide their lives. What an inspiring seervice and the freedom of the spirit was so evident. If you get a chance to attend Pinecrest, do this. A great place to worship.

I must say The Booth Brothers were at their peak. Wound up last night in Jasper, GA. After The First Mountain Quartet opened the program the Booths came on singing a little over an hour. We took a break and then The Booths came back and sang another 45 minutes. Michael did a marvelous job closing the concert last night. Thanks Guys for a wonderful, spirit filled and blessed evening.
