Well, I am excited to say that I get to see the Kingsmen Live in the "Big City" of Jellico, TN. next Thursday night.!! I haven't seem them in a long while. As many of you know, I have been openly critical of, what I consider the shortcomings of this particular lineup. This is their chance to prove to me that this lineup is as good live as alot of you say. I hope they knock my socks off, and, I really hope that I am eating crow next Friday for lunch!!!! Haven't had a good meal of crow in a a while!!!!! I am looking for the same intensity and energy that I remember this legendary group having!!!!! Can anyone give me a rough rundown on their current setlist. I know they will be doing alot from When God Ran. Bryan Hutson, this is for you, if you still read this forum. If it is at all possible, I'd love to hear you sing "Come and See the Rising Son". That may be your best lead ever. If you can't do that, "Even John Couldn't Tell It" would be my next favorite.. I can't wait till Thursdeay. I am stoked!!! The Kinsmen were my first Southern Gospel Group. I don't mean to go on, but I'd like to tell the story of how I became a Kingsmen fan. In about 1993 or 94, the Kingsmen were going to be at my local highschool, Campbell County High School. My parents were SG fans from the days of Jerry Goff back in the 70's. I bought them tickets for Christmas to see the Kingsmen. I was a Michael W. Smith, Carman, Stephen Curtis Chapman fan, and didnt care for what I considered (without hearing it) old people's gospel. (I was 16 at the time) They bought a 4 tape set that night. "Church Hymns: The Rest of the Story", "Fast Tracking", "Hits of Horizon", and " Gospel Hits" All of which were table cassettes. I started listening to Fast Tracking, because it was more upbeat. I fell in love with "Led Out of Bondage" the classic bass singer song, "I've Got a Reservation", and "The Dearest Friend I've Ever Had"..and listened to those everynight. By the time the Kingsmen came back the next year, I was ready to go!!! I have seen them about a dozen times since then, and completely fell in love with Southern Gospel music. Like I said above, I hope and pray that my criticism is proven wrong without a shadow of a doubt.!!!!

BillBaileyBFA Fan, I can't give you a complete list, but they do a few from When God Ran, plus some of their older projects.....songs like I'll Rise Up from My Grave, Saints Will Rise, Look for me at Jesus feet, My Past has Passed, Good, Good, God, Healing Stream, etc... They usually end with Beautiful Home. Enjoy the concert....they are singing better than ever...Please file a report after the concert!

Did anybody in here get to the National Quartet Convention? Just wondered how the guys were when they sang there. I have always thought it would be neat to attend that but haven't been able to do so yet.

They sang songs from the new project, and they sang some old classics. I just they would have been given more nights to sing than they did.

I know they were on for at least two different nights, since I caught at least two sets. But weren't they on for three?

ORIGINAL: DJSfromCleveland No, they only had 2 nights. Monday at 6:32 pm, and Saturday at 10:31 pm. (scheduled times). I thought it was a shame they didn't have at least 3 nights! , also, why were'nt they in the Vintage Qts. Showcase? , go figure! At least? (!) Even the most popular groups, by whatever standard you measure them, didn't get more than 3. And I think there may have even been one or two groups of board members that only got two.

Don't know if I will be successful or not but I'm trying to bring the Kingsmen back to Georgia next year. So far we have a date set if financial arrangements are right. We have reached an agreement. They will be in Acworth, GA June 20, 2009.

Hey Robert, Can you bring the Kingsmen back to the South Georgia area? Bill Bailey isnt doing much SGM promoting down here in South Georgia like he used to. I used to could count on Bill Bailey to bring the Kingsmen down to Waycross, GA every summer at the all-night sing quote:
