The Kingsmen Myspace is reporting (with pictures as well) that Michael Booth of the Booth Brothers was the drummer that came out on "Beautiful Home".

Guess it was Michael Booth. From where I was sitting, I thought it was the Easter's drummer :)

Yeah, Michael is a great drummer. Eric Ollis was on the piano, and it was a blast.

Ok... my dad pointed this out in the obituaries in our local newspaper. It says that Russell E. Harthcock (1/12/1928 - 8/18/2008) "was a talented musician singing baritone in southern gospel music and traveling across the country with the Gospel Four and in later years with the Kingsmen Quartet". If anyone has more information on Harthcock, please post it. I'd like to know when he was with the Kingsmen!

I looked in the Kingsmen 50th Commemorative History which has a member roster of all the Kingsmen and he isn't listed there. This list even includes Bus Drivers.

Yea...thats very true David...the same can be said when you search Kingsmen Quartet on youtube quote:
ORIGINAL: DJSfromCleveland Maybe they meant another Kingsmen Qt. sometimes , some small regional groups would use that same name. I found that out sometimes searching Kingsmen on Ebay, Youtube, or Amazon.

i wonder why groups don't copyright their names? I would think that since most of these quartets have record deals and such, that they'd want to protect their name.

yeah... I don't know of any local group that went by the Kingsmen..... What got me is that the wording said he traveled the country with the group. You can't really do that with a "local" group.

You know, if several groups through the years have used Kingsmen, why did they HAVE to switch to Carolina Boys. Why couldn't they just say we are a different Kingsmen?? I don't understand copyright stuff, so there is probably a very good reason as to why they couldn't do this.

thats a good question...maybe our lawyers or "lawyers to be" can answer that question....as a matter of fact, I think they were awesome as Carolina Boys and I think they still were the Kingsmen under a different name...Im glad Ray has the name quote:

I guess my top 3 lineups would be Jerry, Randy, Parker, Ray Jerry, Bryan, Parker, Ray Chris, Bryan, Parker, Ray Really hard to say what order, if I were pressed on it.
