Having written a book or having a book published doesn't exactly make someone famous. Now if the Christianity of the Presidents book becomes a bestseller, and I do speaking engagements all over the country, maybe I will be famous then, but I definitely don't think of myself as famous right now.

When I was a little boy, I remember seeing a Live Singing Americans record at Wal-Mart. It had individual pictures of the members as they sang...Kind of like The Kingsmen Stand Up at Opryland. Do you have any idea the name of the album, or where I could get it? I have Homecoming and Alive already.

I'm not a Singing Americans expert yet. Here's a project that has separate pictures, but I have no idea whether it's live: click here.

There's also a pretty good discography here: click here.

Hey Daniel, i know you are a big Cathedrals fan, of course, since you started the Cathedrals Tribute website!, but i was wondering, do you have all of their recordings?

I know i don't have anywhere close to it, but i have most of the last ones since about the 25th anniversary till the end.

I presently have all but ~16 of their ~74 recordings.

Wow, that's great!

I have all the Kingsmen's projects with the exception of only like 2 or 3. And they have quit a library from way back when to now. I just added their newest addition called "Good Good God", i really love that one.

Daniel, Has Roger and Debbie Bennett ever been featured in the "At Home With" article in the Singing News? And if so, what issue?

I believe that is a fairly recent feature (only in the last year or two). So your memory is as good as mine on this one, and I don't happen to recall one.

Dr. Daniel...how come singers don't look a thing like they sound? It's been a major let-down to hear these wonderful voices, and then see the person, and he looks absolutely nothing like you expected him too.

Hey DJSfromCleveland,
I really love the "Good Good God" cd. I have 10 Kingsmen cds and their six latest ones, not counting the Honor the Heritage, Vol.1 done by the Carolina Boys Quartet. I wish I had all of their ablums, but I dont because I am only 17 years old and I dont have any of the old albums.

Ebay is a good place to look. If you don't have a record player yet, look around at local rummage sales. I picked up my first record player at one when I was maybe 16 or 17. You do need to have a place to put it!

My mom used to have one and I enjoyed listening to those old Elvis Presley records my dad had and my mom's old Inspirations records.

Is this an observation, or a question that I'm supposed to come up with an answer for?

Maybe it's voice training.

Well Josh, it's good to see another Kingsmen fan on board! Yes, it took me a long time to get my collection, just a little bit at a time. And like Daniel said, always check the garage sales, and flea markets, and things like that you can find some good deals a lot cheaper than going on EBay. But , sometimes EBay will give you a good deal too.

I took this to mean that, for example, J.D. Sumner, David Sutton and Brian Free look like they sound,, but Ernie Haase, Michael Combs, and Conrad Cook do not.

It goes to show that what's on the inside (in this case the larnyx, lungs, etc.) is what's important.

Dr. Daniel-
I read in the October issue of Singing News that Mike Holcomb has won the Favorite bass five times between 1974 (his first) and 2005 (most recent). What is the longest time period that has gone between awards for anyone (to win the same award)? It seems like 35 years is a pretty long time.

I do not believe that anyone has gotten near Mike Holcomb's record, and chances are that nobody will unless Archie Watkins takes home the tenor award. It's been years since he has done that.
