McGuinessMagee and lexie, I feel the same way about Picoult's writing.

I read My Sister's Keeper. Only one real plot twist...the rest was predictable.

I am re-reading The Divine Mentor by Wayne Cordeiro, for the third time. Great book!

And Off the Derech: Why Observant Jews Leave Judaism, How to Respond to the Challenge by Faranak Margolese, and The New Israelis: An Intimate View of a Changing People, by Yossi Melman.

Dave Eggers has an interesting anthology series called Best American Non-Required Reading. It's patterned after Best American Short Stories, Best American Essays, etc.

I usually have a few going at once. Now I'm reading
The Sparrow, by Mary Doria Russell, a science-fiction book about a Jesuit mission to another planet that ends in disaster.
A good non-fiction (name I can't remember and I left it at work) about an informer for the Congress Committee on Un-American Activities/McCarthy hearings.
A Very Long Engagement, by Sebastien Japrisot, about a woman who searches after WWI to find out what happened to her fiance.

BTW - Francine Rivers Mark of the Lion Series is awesome!
Dallas Willard's Hearing God is also excellent.
And I very much enjoyed The Shack.

Hi, a friend talked to me about the Lahaye-Jenkins series. So what did you think of it?

(Today I been looking at Cunningham's 'Historical Theology'.)

Take care

I'm not sure what to make of Chesterton or Lewis...A friend of mine who studied in Belfast, where C S Lewis was from, did a special study of him, though.

I greatly enjoy C.S. Lewis's works that I've read, but that said, there's only been two of them. So far, I still really like this as he's very clear, if a bit slow, in his explanations.

Chesterson, so far, is very interesting to read, although a lot of what he's writing to combat is out of my own time context. The philosophies he's going against have their modern equivalents now so I can match up but the specifics of the people he mentions, I don't know. I do know enough to follow along though.

I did look at C S Lewis's Screwtape Letters, but I wasn't too impressed, frankly, but anyway...

I'm not far into it yet due to work and being busy the last few days, but so far, so good :) I'm a fan of hers and I've heard good things about this book.

Also, my wife and I have been reading Mark's Gospel recently.

Also I was reading 'The Best of F B Meyer' not long ago, (an early 20th century preacher).
