I am re-reading The Rescuer by Dee Henderson and Feature (a daily bible study). I can't read a lot of books at once, it confuses me because I get the story lines mixed up, and because when I read a book for pleasure I read it front to back in normally one to three days, depending on how interrupted I get. :)

Right now it's The Secret of the Swamp King by Jonathon Rogers. It's book 2 of his Wilderking Trilogy. But tonight I'm picking up the sequel to Dragonspell and will start it immediately.

I'm reading TEARS OF THE GIRAFFE by Alexander McCall Smith. It's the second in the Number One Ladies' Detective Agency series, featuring Precious Ramotswe, and takes place in Botswana.

"1776" The Revolutionary War is such a cool period in history. Reading through it, it's kinda surprising we as a country even survived that period. By the grace of God, it must've been.

Sideways....is this the one written by David McCollough (sp)? If so, I saw an interview of him on Fox News Sunday about this book. I'm inspired to want to read it!!! What an amazing time! When asked did he consider there to have been divine intervention during that *retreat* of General Washington, his answer was "Call it divine intervention, Providence, luck....whatever", but he concluded that the survival and ultimate victory of those struggling for the foundation of our Country was a miracle. When asked what he learned during the writing of the book, he said "Character counts and courage is contagious." I'm not going to forget that phrase. Great interview.

You are correct, jatfla, David M. did indeed write the book I'm reading. "1776" seems to be all over the place these days. I would highly recommend it; David's writing style is quite readable. You almost forget that you're reading about history, and you start to get a little worried for the American troops! He talks about the religous faith of the men and women during that time, as well as some of the less then morale things done by both Americans and British, but he himself makes no open statements about God or divine intervention. He leaves it up to the reader. Bear in mind he does not demonize the British, nor does he refrain from calling out the Americans on some of their stupid decisions. But overall it's tremendously uplifting for me as an American to read. Very inspirational.

I just finished the Big Stone Gap trilogy by Adriana Trigiani as well as a not so wonderful mystery (just for a fun one hour read) called Dead Ball Foul by Kayla McGrady. I'm not sure what exactly is up next; my list is really big, so I still need to pick!

I just started The Jasmine Moon Murder. It's about a single lady who owns a teashop and solves murders on the side. I've already read several others in the series and have enjoyed them.
