Are annov cycles that common? Or does it depend on the person?

Does anybody else just chart on paper? I've never tried the software versions. Probably a little more deduction involved, but only I get to tell the piece of paper which day was O.

Editing this because I didn't realize it wasn't the TTC thread.

I think anyone can have an annov cycle, it just depends on what your hormones are doing.

I've never charted on paper, software only for me Oh, and I can tell the software when O was, I just had to override it's "deductions".

When do you enter stuff in on the computer--first thing in the morning? I never login before leaving for work, and sometimes I can go all week without using my PC at home. I might be able to do it at work if it was web-based, but I'd still feel funny. Paper is great for me for now, but I could see myself tracking on the pc if/when I'm at home with kids.

Yeah, I usually check email and stuff while DD eats breakfast so I enter it in then. It's not web based though, so that could be hard.

Yeah, somehow I can't see myself installing tracking software on my work PC. Imagine if my (male, w/o kids) boss walks in and innocently asks "Oh, what database are you working on?" LOL!

Do you have a PDA? I'd bet there's software that you can use on that. And you could enter it on the bus or whenever.

Aha - Hormonal Forecaster, the one I use, does have Palm/Pocket PC editions: http://www.hormonalforecaster.com/

When I was charting, I did it with pencil and paper. I used the charts from CCLI (I think that's the name). The same agency that puts out the Art of NFP book.

I started on paper but then moved to the computer program once I knew what I was doing.

Stacy, I did the same thing and will continue after I have the baby. I honestly just prefer the old fashioned way.

I would forever be losing a paper chart. I'm so disorganized about things like that.

I've done paper charting, too -- before using the software version. I actually use my computer more than paper -- and I like the fact that mine is now password protected (I also have children in the house who could figure out the charts -- most of you don't have to worry about that) and that it automatically does calculations/averages.

Tricia, I'm so glad you posted that link; I got my paper charts from them and forgot to bookmark the site. Do you know if the palm software version can be changed to celcius? Using the palm could be a great idea, although the paper does work well enough. I just keep it in my night-table drawer along with the thermometer.

The point about kids who can interpret the chart is good to keep in mind though, once I have kids.

Yay, myka!

Jen - I don't know. I haven't converted to metric in this area.

Fair enough. I'd go imperial but all the basal thermometers sold in Canada seem to be metric.

Fun fact of the day: thermometer in Czech is "thermoval." Also, pharmacists in the Czech Republic don't speak much English.

Ryanne, I'm extremely disorganized too...I just leave my charts next to the bed.

Can you tell how close you are to starting menapause by checking your cervical mucus/fluid? I've never did NFP, but I am familier with cm/cf.

I kept my charts in a notebook with my thermometer. I quit charting and temping about the same time, when I figured out my mucous pattern. 4 years later, still as regular as ever ... even post-baby.

After I had Josie I only went by the mucous pattern. This time I plan to temp too because we ended up with a surprise. I knew the next day that we had more than likely conceived (I had thought my mucous had dried up but it had not) but we were open to that so it was wonderful! We knew we were taking a risk but were okay with it. This time we'd like to have a little longer before we have the next baby (if we have a next one).

Stampinlady, I honestly don't know...maybe one of the professionals on here can tell you.
