First post long time user of this website in my queries into various questions, sometimes for my own edification or as part of forum discussions. I reside in Northern California some 39 miles north of San Francisco, am married to a wonderful Catholic wife, and have raised 4 children all of whom currently are in college. Oldest son is a senior in Economics at UCSB, Oldeest daughter is a Seniior Biology major at Sonoma State, and youngest son is a RHP at CSU East Bay majoring in Criminal Justice. The youngest works and goes to College of Marin. I was born and raised in San Francisco, graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1960 and then went to New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell New Mexico. I was raised by Pentacostal Holiness parents who were saved during an Aimee Mcpherson Revival. As a result I came to know the Lord as a young child during a Sunday School call to prayer. I then spent many yars working in my father's church along with my five other sibling's as a young soloist and choir member. Our family held many revivial services all around California for many years until I was a teenager. Then something happened to my Dad during a prayer service where he was praying for a demon possesssed person. Thereafter he was not the same person and eventally left the church. Our family has endured and my sisters and brother are still devoted Christians and faithful church members. My wife and I do not attend church any longer as what we have found there is more there to corrupt our faith then if we stay grounded in, the conservative interpretation of the tenets of God's word. Our devotion is our Lord and Savior, not to any man or religious interpretation of what the word means. We get much of our religious watch much of the 700 club, John Hagee, etc. I have read many of post here and see that a vibrant interaction takes place including disagrreements of simple Bible verses and their meaning. It is good that people of faith test their understanding of the Word for we all can learn from each other what is good and well, and also that which is not of the Word. I hope to do more reading then writing...as I have found you learn so much more that way.
