Why is this gospel of Christ crucified not heard more often in the public square? What are YOU going to do about it?

Well, that question is a little different from the title of the thread. People aren't preaching publicly for a number of reasons, coldness and cowardice among Christians, government regulations against evangelism in certain places, lack of confidence in the objective truth of the Gospel. All are sign of breakdown in fundamental Christian confidence in the Bible.
I personally discuss the Gospel with people in and out of season, that is, when God gives me the occasion. I'm not a door to door evangelist, although I have done that sort of thing and am happy to do it, but I have neighbors, coworkers, family members, etc. that I have continual dealings with in witness.
Your thread title: "Why is it right that forgiveness of sins be only by faith in Jesus' name and no other?" The answer is that the Bible says there is no other name and that's the truth. Buddha, Muhammad, Krishna, etc. are false, non-existent "gods" of the human imagination. Nothing that comes from man can save man (i.e. you can't fix the problem with the problem). Only the true God revealed in the Bible and his Son, Jesus can forgive sins because only Jesus has died for our sins and is an acceptable sacrifice to God.

His work on the cross is finished, and it was successful. He did not remain on the cross...He is risen, and because He is alive, He can now offer every man, woman and child, life...His life, eternal life!
Through the cross Jesus Christ took away the sins of the world, through His resurrection He offers us life; having given His life for us, He then gives His life to us, so that He can then live His life through us. Amen.

Well I for one, and many that I know preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ at every opportunity.
So maybe you have just been in the worng "Public square" to hear it.
Jesus said this;
(Joh 17:20) Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
(Joh 17:21) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
(Joh 17:22) And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
(Joh 17:23) I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
So the Wrods of the Diciples are what lead one to accept Christ and all Christians are mandaed to tell everyone they can those words (The Gospel, The trugh of Jesus Christ).
