Wouldn't the phantom voters Acorn recruits reside in the phantom districts? And wouldn't those phantom districts need jobs?

Forgive my skepticism (not so much skepticism but my curiousity) but could they be reporting state districts as opposed to federal districts? We have only 19 or 20 House members but 99 in Columbus. Would this make more sense?

I don't know how your state government is set up. Ours has 99 Ohio House districts. Could this be a reference to La. House districts?

While I would not even be remotely surprised if this money is somewhere out in space (or someone's back pocket) this makes absolutely no sense what I've read. If it's going to be ripped off and laundered this strikes me as just a bit too obvious.

Of course, your state is nefarious for this kind of politics.

The errors were not of a minor or technical nature. They were egregious.

AP reported that “some jobs credited to the stimulus program were counted two, three, four or even more times.” The Bee reported that California State University said “the $268.5 million it received in stimulus funding through October allowed it to retain 26,156 employees” – more than half its statewide work force. The Tribune reported that Illinois education officials grossly inflated job-saved numbers, sometimes saying school districts had saved more jobs than their total number of employees.

This is a scandal and should be treated as such. It’s not government as usual. Instead, it appears to reflect a decision to distort government data collection to support explicitly political agendas.

I would imagine that all of the 15+ million officially unemployed would love to have one of those phantom jobs for which that money was supposed to be creating. I've read quite a few articles in the last couple days where more and more people are going hungry and food banks are running low. The question remains where is that money?
