Over the past few years there has certainly been a proliferation of TV shows on DVD. However, with all the choices, there are still some shows that haven't made it onto DVD. Which shows would you like to see released that haven't been?

My top 3 are:

3. Time Trax - a time travel cop show

2. The New Zorro - this is the Zorro that was on The Family Channel

1. I'll Fly Away - a civil rights drama that was on NBC in the early 90's.

Scarecrow & Mrs. King

(I remember the New Zorro, I like it, too.)

The Young Riders. They released Season One two years ago, but nothing since then.

I wish they would put out more Mary Tyler Moore and more Leave It to Beaver.

I've been waiting three years for season 2 of Night Court. Amazon just e-mailed me that it's due in Feb. 09.

I wish they'd release the rest of Taxi. I have the first three seasons, need the last 4(?).

But numero uno on my list is Spenser for Hire. There are bootleg sets out there, but the quality is worse than a VHS tape that's been played a thousand times. Am I the only one who loved this show?

I loved that show. My wife and I watched it every week. Never did see the 4 Tv movies, though. Those are out on dvd. I might get that some day.

There's really no comparison. They re-cast Susan (twice), Quirk, and Belson. The writing wasn't anywhere near the quality of the series, and they weren't shot anywhere near Boston. I have them, and watch them occasional, but they really just make me want the series even more.

Worst of all he isn't driving that smokin' Mustang.

You're thinking of ER, the current show on NBC. He's talking about a different show from something like 10 years before the current one. I vaguely remember it.

Oo-oo-oo! I liked that one. I take it and add Monk as my second.

What to request for a third . . . .
Maybe I'll go for that show in which Archy Bunker was promoted to police chief in Mississippi, and in the movie, the detective said, "They call me Mr. Tibbs!" Can't remember the name of it.

But fourth(!?!) I like the Mary Tyler Moore show, too, because it brought back glimpses of Minneapolis in its sweet, innocent days.

In the Heat of the Night. I watch way too much tv!

BTW, the movie starred Rod Steiger and Sidney Poitier in case you were curious.

That's right! Thank you. In both the movie and the TV show, the scenes of the streets were so familiar from when I lived in MS.

I wish they would release the remaining 5 seasons of Touched by an Angel. It seems like an eternity to wait for them.

LOLL I thought I was the only one who remembered this show!

Someone the other day mentioned BJ and the Bear, and so now that is the one I want. I had a major crush on Greg Evigan.

There are a lot of great shows that I'd like to see on DVD, but I can never really afford to buy them anyway.

Yeah, that is the wrong show. This one was back in the 80s and only lasted 22 episodes. Elliot Gould was the star, George Clooney played an orderly, Mary Macdonald (of Battlestar Galactica) was Gould's supervisor, Jason Alexander (of Seinfeld) was a regular as well.

Can TV movies count?

If so, I wish Pop Rocks would be released on dvd. It was a movie shown on ABCFamily about a family man (played by Gary Cole) who had been the leader of an 80s heavy metal band, complete with wild hair, makeup, spandex (ala Twisted Sister), which his family hadn't known about. Then his old bandmates want to get together for a reunion gig and hilarity ensues. It's really cute.

While this is a bit OT, I have really loved the recent seasons of Dr WHo. David Tennant is now starring in Hamlet (with Patrick Stewart as the wicked uncle).

I would LOVE to have THAT on dvd......
