Which word lines up with your sentiment or perception of the word "Law" or Old Testament. Of the choices given which best fits your understanding.

You first "gut" thought.

Please elaborate on your answer.

Thanks

i chose teachings and liberty. i was torn between that and intructions and timeless. i chose teachings because instructions seemed to me to imply that i was to follow all the writings of the Law. obviosly i am not responsible for the laws reguarding temple worship and certain other laws, but from the teachings one may glean from them may give one wisdom for other parts of their life.

Instructions & Timeless/relevant looking forward the deliverance of the Messiah. One can't segregate the two covenants for they both had there time in history. Looking back from the perspective this time(the new covenant Christ Jesus' blood)illuminates the first. Read, just read, Leviticus in light of Jesus' sacrifice and it comes to life!

Instructions & Timeless/relevant...revealing of Gods will and how we should form our lives based on love to please Him. In all honesty I could just as well cast my vote for Teachings & liberty…they both are appropriate.

Instructions & Timeless/relevant

Psalm 119:97 O how I love Your Torah! It is my meditation all the day.
Ro 2:13 for it is not the hearers of the Torah who are just before God, but the doers of the Torah will be justified.
Ro 4:7 "BLESSED ARE THOSE WHOSE LAWLESS DEEDS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN, AND WHOSE SINS HAVE BEEN COVERED.
Tit 2:14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for mitzvot.
Heb 10:17 "AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE."
2Th 2:8 Then that Torahless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming

The OT and NT are intertwined. The law was a tutor to bring us to Christ and shows how far we fall w.o Him.
