There is another poll/thread about what books you like to read currently in this forum. However, I could not answer it as it did not list any genre I really wanted. Therefore, and in ridiculous fashion, I have created this poll/thread for what the rest of us like to read. And if you don't find your favorite here, check "other" and let us know. And please, don't be so serious all the time

And if I could list more than 10 entries, I would include the following

  • History/Documentary
  • Historical Fiction
  • Scripture Studies
  • Textbooks
  • Product Labels
  • Palms?
  • Horror Reality (e.g. Washington Post, People, headlines on CNN)
  • Modern Fiction (e.g. current bills before the US Congress)

I like most of these. However, I'm one of the heathens that will pretty much read anything but Christian fiction.

Fiction:

Classic Literature
Occasional Chick lit (bestsellers) - those are best in the summer by the pool. Nothing too deep, ya know.
Medical type science fiction (Jurassic Park, etc)
Mysteries/Horror
Non fiction like autobiographies, etc

Textbooks and computer books when needed

I am a nerd who likes to read.

Probably be easier to say everything except for fantasy like Unicorns and Westerns.

Yeah, Unk! Not to mention there's Christian fiction, and then there's "Christian" fiction; I tend to write toward the latter. See, Stella? It's not all junk!

I found this list only slightly inclusive then the other, and Harry Potter is speculative fiction?! Harry Potter is modern fantasy. The structure is similar to Narnia with twin worlds that overlap.

I think the going definition of speculative fiction is that one aspect of real life is changed and the rest is the same.

I miss literary fiction, contemporary fiction, and other non-fiction subjects on this list too. I read everything on this list although I don't seek out western fiction and horror (although I'm still open to them they're not my favorite).

I voted for others. I like true stories, biography, and Christian fiction.

Mmmhm.... Yea at least you could vote for more than one...

I do enjoy good mysteries, fantasies, and even some sci-fi now and again. I'm not much into "horror" per say, but some suspense I'm ok with. I'm not much into westerns... or romances unless it has some action like Star Wars. Classics are good... to a certain degree. Ancient stuff like epics.. just feel like school work mostly. ( Though I did enjoy Arabian Nights) Fokelore can be good... add some fantasy in... its great (example... Stephen Lawhead's "King Raven Triology" )

I do enjoy good christian fiction, one of my favorites is Melody Carlson's Diary of Teenage Girl series... and True Colors series. Awesome!
