What are your kids wearing for Halloween.
If you don't do Halloween that is fine but please don't post your
opinions here - this is a fun forum for those of us who let our
kids dress up.

My 2 oldest have outgrown trick or treat but my other two are
going as The Phantom of the Opera and a Jonas Brothers fan (that was an easy costume,
t- shirt, jeans, denim hat and a lot of fabric paint)

My opinion only as a disclaimer - I hate Halloween. I was totally anti-Halloween growing up, it's how I was raised. When my kids were tiny we didn't do it; dh was pretty disappointed I think. I've loosened up, mainly because of the Baptist preschool they went to. Last year was the first time they've trick or treated. I think they're going to be too old soon but I'll let them do it again this year with the neighbor kids. So I'm still dragging my feet somewhat. Knowing i don't get into it, my kids tried to let me off the hook - ds said he was too old (at 7 1/2) and dd said she could go as a soccer player - in her school uniform team! I decided this morning that was a total cop out and would be cheating to use that as a costume. She has dressed up as some version of a cat the last two years. I got her a new leotard and tights today; we'll use the cat stuff and she's going to be a soccer-playing-panther! Her soccer jersey says "Panthers" from her school team so it'll be funny. Ds said this morning, he would like to be Batman but could take it or leave it. I bought the cheesy little Walmart costume today for $20! Seems silly to me but I guess that's because I think the whole thing is silly.

I'm not a complete fuddy duddy. We'll get together with the neighbors - a group of 10 kids and go around the block, I guess. I got pumpkins today and these cool little Mr. Potato head pieces to stick in them - that might be cheating as bas as dd wanting to be a soccer player. Dh might want to cut the pumpkins; I'll let the kids decide tonight. I also got stuff for caramel apples. We've had such stressful stuff going on lately that a cheesy family night and spending time with the neighbors actually sounds incredible to me. It'll be fun.

I just finished sewing our daughter's Dorothy from Wizard of Oz costume last night. She's 20 months old so she couldn't really care less (though she LOVES the red shoes we got her at Walmart and is constantly putting them on and prancing around in them). But, my family wants to see her in her outfit, so, meh. We'll probably just go to a harvest/fall festival at a nearby church.

my kids are grown so I don't know what they are wearing but I know what I bought the grandkids....1 lion outfit (2 yr old boy) 1 strawhat, bib overalls, flannel shirt, and red hankerchief for the 5 yr old and a ballerina outfit for the only girl who is 3.

When passing out candy tomorrow I'll be the blue M&M and she is a Hershey Kiss. We don't get into the scary aspect..but try to make it fun for the little ones.

My son is going as Bob the Builder. He'll wear overalls with a red/white flannel shirt, work boots, a hard hat and a tool belt. He's 3 1/2. We had all of these items so I didn't have to buy a thing.

My daugher is going as Tinkerbell. I found her green fairy wings, fairy skirt, fairy shoes and fairy wand at Dollar Tree. She's 22 months.

We don't make a big deal out of Halloween, but our tiny town closes down main street traffic and all the kids get to trick-or-treat at the local businesses downtown from 4-5 p.m. Halloween evening. The kids love it, so that's what we'll do. Then we might make caramel apples at home or something.

Noah (8) is a pirate. My mom got the costume at a garage sale for 50 cents, and I bought a sword to go with it.

Nick (7) is Batman. His grandmother (mom's mom) bought the costume.

Hannah (3) is an angel. I got the costume on clearance after last Halloween. I bought gold sparkly hair paint to go with it.

Levi (20 months) is an elephant. This same costume has been worn by all the kids on their 2nd Halloween.

Esther (2 months) is a pink leopard. This is the only costume I bought all of...$10 at Walmart.

We go ToTing, then get pizza for dinner, then go to my parents' house for cider, donuts, and Grandma and Grandpa time.

My mother takes the kids shopping for Halloween costumes each year - its a tradition for them!

They came home this year with bits and pieces of all kinds of strange things!

My daugther is wearing a japanese costume, but sewn a cat's tail to it. LOL I have NOOOOOOOO idea! She seemed thrilled!

My son has some silly mask, and I think the hat to 'Indiana Jones"...and some ugly looking sweater!

I'm not sure what they are suppose to be! I don't think they know either, but it was fun! HEY you never know it might inspire the next series of cartoons!

My girls are dressing up because dh wants to do the whole trick or treating thing. I really could care less. 8yo is going as a devil. She picked it, not too thrilled but okay. 3yo is going as a kitty. It is actually a cute costume. Since I work at a store, I got a discount. I was just going to make something but buying was just so much easier.

So far I have Aria from the Arigorn books(13 yo) her school requires them to be a charactor from a book and then they parade and have a contest; Dorothy from wizzard of oz, and Lucy from Narnia (twins age 10) the twins costumes are from big sis. Dh is making most of dd #1. I'm going as a s'more. I have white scrubs, I'm making a cardboard grahm cracker and a poster board chocolate bar. I'll be un-melted...

David is going to be a little lamb. He has already worn his costume 3 times. Once for a Halloween party, once for Boo at the Zoo, and once for Trunk or Treat at church. Tomorrow we will just dress him up and take him to see the grandparents and then come home and hand out candy.

We didn't have to buy any costumes this year.

My 5yo is going as Alice in Wonderland. It's the same as last year. She makes a cute Alice. Between that and a bunch of dress-up stuff she's acquired over the last year, I told her we weren't buying a costume but she could pick whatever she wanted to wear out of that stuff. Last week for a school party she picked a princess outfit.

My 6yo will be a Clone Trooper. He got to pick from a bunch of costumes that his older brother had worn in years past. Even though it's from a few years ago, it seems to be a popular costume this year (or a variation on it) because of the Clone Wars cartoon. He's happy.

My oldest, 11yo, is going as "It Came from the Closet". So far, he has a pleather vest with fringe, light-up reindeer antlers, and a silver eye mask. We'll see what all he ends up with tomorrow!
