Think this is an interesting subject and a lot of us like to post where we seen who and what went on at a concert. So I'm re-cranking it up so we can post about our concerts. Most recent concert we attended was Thursday night in Rome, Ga with 11 SN Fan Award Winners - The Booth Brothers and Triumphant Quartet. It was a great concert with a full house. Second half was both groups on stage band and all. Band Michael Booth, Drums, his son, Jonathan Martin, Ronnie on guitars and Jeff Stice on piano.

I went to Dacula, GA yesterday to see The Old Paths and Gold City. The Old Paths were great as usual. Jeremy was having some vocal problems, but he still delivered some great singing and high tenor as he always does. I was also amazed at Doug Roark. He's lost 45 lbs, and looks GREAT....I think he looks 10 years younger. Gold City.....what can you say???? Tim Riley is the BEST ever!!!! He forevermore knocked the bottom out. He seems to keep getting better and better. This was the second time for me to see GC with Chris Cooper. I am really impressed with this young man; I think Danny hit a Grand Slam when he hired him. They sang Preach The Word, and Chris knocked it out of the park!! This is an annual outdoor event, held at a beautiful country property northeast of Atlanta. This was my fourth year......free BBQ Pork, Brunswick Stew, Hot Dogs, and some GREAT SG music. I'll be back next year!!

Georgia Mountain Fair Fall Festival Today - Diplomats - Chuck Wagon Gang - Isaacs - Morning worship with Diplomats and Rev. Steve Swafford. All I can say is GREAT. Been going there for years and I do believe that today was the largest crowd that I've ever seen at the Fall Festival Gospel Singing. Saw our buddy Danny Jones there 'hocking' those Singing News Subscriptions. Isaacs did a lot of songs off their new cd and they are some of the best songs I've heard them record in a long time. Think they are gonna have several hits off this cd.

Saw the Talley Trio last night in Myerstown, PA. Really good, as usual. It was the first time the church had ever had an SG group there, and were trying it out to see the response. Needless to say, the response was very good. I spoke to the pastor afterwards, and he seems ready to do it more in the future. I'm hopeful.

I saw The Kingsmen in Starr, SC on 10-8-09 and they were great. The church was full. They did several songs from their new cd that feaured Ray Dean. Personally I don't think they feature him enough. "Huggy" was featured on a song I Saw The Cross, which I predict will be #1. Cody ,their piano player, is fanastic.

A few weeks ago, I saw U2 & Snow Patrol at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. Saturday night I saw Sonny Landreth and Bob Weir at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC. -Dan.

We saw MarK Trammell Trio at Carmi, IL, tonite. We had not seen them for about 3 years, so we were happy to get the opportunity and to also meet their relatively new tenor singer, Joel Wood. They all did a very good job, and their harmony was excellent. I was reminded again how good a baritone Mark is, and how good a range he has. Dustin showed off his piano skills as well as his pleasant voice tonite. In addition to a couple of piano solos, he played piano, with Mark on the bass, and no soundtracks, on a few songs. That was really crowd pleasing. Joel sang one of my favorite tenor songs, Hide Thou Me, and really did a great job on it. One of the highlights of the night was There's Something About That Name, with only the piano and bass plus their voices. Their musical dynamics on that song were outstanding, and just added even more emphasis to the words and message. A spirit of worship prevailed throughout the evening, and we felt much blessed from attending.

I saw three great quartets in concert last night. Super high and clear tenor singing, low and smooth bass singing, tight and impeccable harmony, excellent coreography and stage presence, and a good measure of humor thrown in. For the purists, each group was dressed in suits and backed by a full band. It was The Coasters, the Platters, and the Drifters. As an added bonus for me, I was not the youngest person there, but I was in the youngest two percent. 8-) The Alabama theater was completely sold out and the crowd was thoroughly pleased as the groups sang their biggest hits as well as other songs from the fifties and sixties. There was even a stirring rendition of God Bless the USA. There were several standing ovations for the groups, and by the time The Drifters closed with a great version of Stand By Me, the crowd was all on it's feet and grooving. Judging from the crowd reaction and comments, everyone had a fantastic time and couldn't wait to see the groups again.

Saw Roy Webb and N'Harmony this past Saturday night. Roy did about 45-50 minutes and kept the crowd laughing all the time. N'Harmony did an excellent performance with great songs and was joined toward the end when they called Roy to play the piano for them. Well once again Roy wouldn't let anything pass by without a remark about something. It was a good ending to a great evening which started with an Italian Dinner hosted by the Youth Department of the Church. First Mountain City Quartet opened the program.

Got to see Triumphant last night in Greenwood, IN. As always, it was a great night of music! We did miss Jeff, though, as he was in Shipshewana, rehearsing for the Pianorama that is going on tonight and tomorrow. It was neat to see David play Goodbye World Goodbye on the harmonica without Jeff on the piano, and he really played it up! A highlight of the night was having the guys singing happy birthday to my little sister (she turns 9 tomorrow) who is a big Triumphant Qt. fan! Some of the songs they sang were Rock Bottom (I enjoyed getting to hear this), He Is, Old White Flag (of course!), Forgave Me Saved Me Raised Me, Great I Am Still Is, He Loves Me, How Beautiful Heaven Must Be, Amazed At The Change, and Do You Know that You Know.

Triumphant Quartet always does a great job. Last year Jeff had to fill in for David when David was sick.

The Servants Quartet had our annual homecoming singing last night in North Wilkesboro, NC. Our guest was the Kingsmen Quartet. We had a great night. The crowd was really into it and the spirit of God was so real. I wish you all could have been there. Even after it was over, people was still hanging around and not wanting to leave. The Kingsmen are truly a blessing.

I went and saw the Ed Crawford and The Mystery Men last night in Brevard, N.C. They had the booking messed up on the web and we arrived about 15 minutes late but it was good. The bass singer has a great voice. I like bass singers and screaming tenors. It was good to see Ed again. It had been several years since I had seem him. The last time at the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion in Greenville, S.C. Big Jim's table was beside theirs and he was giving him directions.

Went to a day of The Fall Festival at Meramec Caverns a couple of weeks ago but that's the latest. It was a great night with The Lesters, The Greenes, The Goffs, Tim Lovelace & Brian Free & Assurance. The Allen Family made a special appearance as well.

Attended a fantastic concert last night with Gold City and the Hammontree’s (local group). This was the first time we’ve seen Chris with GC and I loved him – dancing and all! I had hoped Tim would be there but Chris West did a great job on the bass part. My favorite songs of the night: Preach the Word & Midnight Cry. Looking forward to seeing Greater Vision tonight!

Got to see Greater Vision this past Friday night. They are getting better than ever. Booth Brothers better watch out of GV will be taking over the favorite trio award again. Always have liked Jacob and he seems to be getting more involved in the songs they are singing, you see some reaction from him. When he first started it was like he was scared to death to make a move. Come on Jacob wanta see you hike that leg some when you hit those high notes.

We heard the Crist Family a couple of weeks ago and was blown away. Great sound and great people and were very supportive of us as well. Truly nice people with a neat story. I would definitely recommend attending their concert if they are in your area!
