Saw Gold City at NQC tonight with Tim doing the bass part. He sounded as good as always and the crowd loved it. GC did some of their old favorites and Tim had some solo parts. He can still "get down". What a treat. Danny should hire him, and continue to do some of the old favorites.

I loved it when Daniel asked the crowd if they were glad to see Tim, and the crowd WENT NUTS!!!! Very good performance on Main Stage!

My father and mother in-law were at the concert last night. My father in-law called me and asked me if i knew what group was singing. Even though the sound coming thru the phone wasn't clear, I could tell right away it was Gold City, with Tim singing that looow bass. It helped that the song they were singing at that point was "After Awhile", where Tim has a nice bass lead during the whole song. Wish I could have been there. :-)

I can easily say, that was the highlight of the NQc the 3 nights i was there, to see Tim Riley sing with Gold City again!

It has been wonderful to see & hear Tim singing once more with GC. Wish I was there in person but the webcasts have been awesome!

I liked Aaron McCune alot as a person and with Gold City and I was sad to hear him leave. But after the peformances that Tim Riley did at the NQC and being able to hear him sing like that in person makes me glad that Tim is back with them. I asked Danny while I was there if he would hire Tim back and he said he is begging him to but he want give an answer yet, then I asked Tim why don't he come back and he said its up to his wife. So hopefully Tim can come back because I like them singing the older stuff anyway and listening to him hit the LOOOOW Notes.

I really wish I could have been there to see that. If Tim's health will allow it, him coming back as the GC bass could be just what the Dr. ordered (no pun intended).

How do you "hire" an owner of a group?

You simply tell him, "Get on the bus. We gotta go."

Fabulous. What a moment that must have been. Two great quartets. Big Jim must have been smiling.

I agree Tim Riley is the best bass for the group that all of us seasoned followers and fans like. But if his health doesn't allow the travel and he doesn't feel the call to minister with Gold City, then it's time to move to another person to fill the position and maybe for the group to change and go in a differant direction than us oldsters would like. I think Daniel was heading that way to some degree. There are many talented singers out there, it has to be very hard to get a group together and keep it together and have all members on the same page ministrywise. Just my .02 cents.

I would love to see Tim stay. Lord knows I do not know which way Gold City needs to go. But maybe the way things have happened the last couple of years with the group with the turn overs and all, maybe stepping back and going back to the old ways would be good and there again maybe not.

Ok sorry so late in posting....Gold City "in my opinion" sounded the best this past Thursday evening as they have in years! Their sound "volume" was just right, Tim was absolutely fantastic, and the overall spirit of the group was upbeat and energetic...something "I thought" that had been missing the last couple of times I had seen them, they seemingly had the audience eating out of their hands...Outstanding job, as a promoter, seeing a packed house on their feet in applause several times, I was very pleased!

Both shows at Dollywood yesterday were packed!!! Gold City rocked the house, yet still had a great ministry focus. Tim is doing great and for those that have missed the 'old' Gold City look and sound- it is back and better than ever!!!

I am glad to hear the old GC sound is back. They were in Gainesville , Ga in Jan. and their sound was not good. Their voices didn't blend. I was very disappointed with their performance.

If you get a chance to hear them again, go, I don't think you will be disappointed. Also Kyle is coming (if he is not already back) back and he is AWESOME with the sound!

Kyle is back and Tim is still singing with them. Think Tim is gonna stay as long as mama will let him be back on the road. Tim told me he had a few dates with The Southment Quartet that he was still gonna do and Daniel would be getting Chris West to fill in for him on those dates. Tim just adds the Gold City Sound back to the group. I know he likes being retired but the fans like him back on the road. Kyle has his mike labeled on the sound board 'The legend'.
BTW: We saw them this past Sunday night.
