Over the last 18 months or so, here seems to have been a spew of new releases by old '80's rock bands. Bon Jovi have a new one imminently, Def Leppard, Journey, Whitesnake, all have toured off new CD's, Danger Danger and House of Lords have new material out, Winger have a fantastic new CD and are due to tour, Europe the same, Giant are re-forming (although without Dan Huff so that'll be a flop), Poison, Ratt and Cinderella are on the road, Motley Crue did the album-tour-DVD thing... I feel young again! Anything I've missed?

I don't think it ever really went away..."newer" bands like Nickelback, Green Day, and others are VERY melodic. Also, if you look at the stats on gate reciepts for tours, the top 10 are "older" bands most of the time. Personally, I was never into the "screamo" stuff...but I'm old enough to remember the 80's bands when they first came on the scene.
