Does anyone know who wrote or recorded the song "Thank God I Made It" ? I have only heard this song twice. Once ten years ago when my cousin sang it at my grandmothers funeral, and again today when someone else sang it at his. I LOVE THIS SONG and would love to find the music for it, perhaps a sound track or something. I'm sure it's been recorded but can't find any information on it anywhere. I did manage to google the lyrics which are as follows, but can't find out any more info.

As my soul has left its body,
which was made of earth and clay,
An angel of the Lord carried me through the Eastern Gates.
As His nail scarred hands caressed my soul
He gave me a clean white robe.
And I cried, "I've made it, thank God, I've made it!
My feet have touched the streets of gold!

Streets of gold, right now I'm walking
Just past the Tree of Life.
Took a drink of living water,
Flowing down from God on high!
I now see Hallelujah Square
And a mansion that won't grow old!"
And I cried, "I made it, thank God I've made it!
My feet have touched the streets of gold!"

I believe The Inspirations were the first to record it. It's available to purchase a download here:

http://www.amazon.com/Southern-Gospel-Treasury-Series/dp/B00123HI2M/ref=sr_f3_2?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1213355562&sr=103-2

It is track #9.
