The DVD is now slated for a Jan. 27, 09 release!!! I can't wait. That's much better than the Fall '09 originally listed!

I guess the only thing that is stopping me from getting excited about this video is the absence of some of the key members. That would be like Gold City having a reunion without Brian and Ivan... or the Kingsmen without Big Jim or Foxy

Terry Franklin, Jonathan Pierce, and Lemuel Miller are missing from the list.
I don't think it would be accurate to label any of these three as a key member, though...at least, not in the sense that Free/Parker are to Gold City and Fox/Hamill are to the Kingsmen. Nine group members, including McSpadden, Harris, English, Murray, Lowry, Phelps, Penrod, Hall and of course, Gaither himself, have more time logged with the GVB than Pierce, Franklin or Miller.
Of course, Franklin had a lot of fans due to the first Southern Classics recording and the Live At Praise Gathering video, but his replacement (Pierce) was actually with the group longer.

I believe I heard there were schedule conflicts. In Jonathan's case, I'm not sure if his voice is still in the same register or if it's moved down a bit after his CCM work.

Would THIS DVD/Video be ANY different than the stacks of DVDs/Cds and other recordings already out there? Of the same people (or perhaps somewhat different people) singing the same recycled songs over and over....just in different locales?

I think it will be VERY different. They will be singing their old songs, but you'll have 15 GVB members from the very beginning of the group all at one place at the same time. I'm looking forward to seeing the interaction between them all.

This will be a neat video. I hope I get to see it sometime. I love walking down memory lane. I think the first GVB record I ever heard was "Passing the Faith Along."
