Todd Bentley. Comments?
You can read one of their bulletins here.
It's another Brownsville-type thing. The bulletin I linked says Rick Joyner's gotten his nose in it--"Prophet Rick Joyner has reported that two of his high school students came down to the outpouring… drove all night home to be in class on Monday morning… shared in their Bible Class what they experienced… and now the POWER OF GOD HAS HIT THE ENTIRE MORNING STAR CAMPUS!!!" Sorry about the caps, that's their doing.
The "yuck factor" is highly increased for me with this quote: "Todd wants the “blessing of the fathers of revival.” He's referring to John Kilpatrick and Steve Hill of Brownsville.
A few photos here.
I'm highly skeptical.

Todd Bentley has some incredible disturbing and extra-biblical teachings.
I was recently on his website, Fresh Fire, and went through some of his teaching. Oh. My. Word.
I read about one where he went up into the third heavens, and met Paul (yes, the writer of half the NT) at his house (which was like, a cabin in a meadow). Paul had him eat all of his writings (those that we know of, and those that we don't have).
Paul also made Todd eat the book of Hebrews (as we are all aware, the author of the book of Hebrews is unknown. There are guesses, and some feel it is Paul, but most do not). Well, Todd asked Paul about that. Paul said that of course he wrote it, but the reason that it sounds different than his other writings was because when Paul himself visited the third heavens, Paul met up with Abraham, and Abraham told him exactly what to write.
After his visit with Paul, Todd was again outside of Paul's house, and noticed a ladder going up into the sky. And he climbed it. And it took him into the fourth heaven. . . the fifth. . . I think he said there were seven or eight different geographical levels of heaven.
And of course Todd teaches that through meditation, every believer can enter into the third heaven.
And this, of course, barely scratches the surface of some of the things this man says.
He preaches about "double anointings."
He preached about angels of prosperity that were the cause of revival, because he also teaches that financial prosperity is the sign of a true revival.
He also proclaims that the Bible is not enough for him, but desires special revelations.
Grrr. I would write more, but I am getting frustrated just trying to weed through what this man says. . .
To conclude. . . I am skeptical of Lakeland, because of its leader, a false teacher, and an A-1 lunatic.

Note to the 'Outpouring' folks: The Holy Spirit does not need your permission of 'freedom' to do anything. This is God we're talking about, not a 'force' to be controlled by you.

After over 15 years of dealing with these heretical and emotionally driven events - I am deeply saddened by the innocent Christians and non-believers who only get this kind of biblical exposure.
For shame.....

Two of the sad things that will be a legacy of the revival of the last decade are that there are people that will always want to try and "revive it". While some of those people who were there for the previous revival decried or denounced "traditionalism" this is now embedded and is something many of them will look back on. The second thing is that many people of many churches are going to want to continually recreate it in their churches to get the publicity, money, fame etc. They may be sincere about it and most of them will be sincere but one of the sad and overlooked things about these "moves of God" is how much attention they will pay to where is the Spirit moving (my church), where are people getting blessed (my church), etc.

I am sadend that people chase after an emotional experience rather than the knowledge of the holy. People err in two extremes: making their faith an only an intelectual exercise or an emotional experience. Somehow, the two need to be merged where that experience has been based on the solid word of God,

This should be enough for people to turn away from such a man but people seem to rush to this sort of thing.

Today's posting says "Jesus walks into the room" and "Todd anointed a special prayer shawl in this outpouring… and it has been carried to Jerusalem… it has been placed in the upper room with all of the prayer requests that have come into God.TV", plus the continuing influence of Bob Jones and his unnamed "spiritual daughter".
