I'm trying to live a life that's pleasing to God, but I feel like it's impossible. We are to not be part of this world, never sin, do everything we can to help the needy, do everything for the glory of God, always be cheerful, fast and pray all the time, meditate on the Bible, etc. Basically I can't have any fun or do anything that's not spiritually-related because I could have been using that time to be doing something more productive. There's a verse that says a believer in Christ cannot sin because sin comes from the devil and we are renewed in Christ. So if we sin, we were never saved in the first place? It's like if I don't join a monastery or something, I'm not doing everything I can to live a good, decent life. Anyone else feel frustrated?

who told you that? o.O Yes sometimes I look at life right now and think "God, what could I really be doing?" but we aren't all spectacular deed-doers, and that's not what we are called to be anyway. You don't have to go feed the entire population of Ghana to do "enough". Listen, as Christians we are suppose to be Christ-like. Jesus is the only one who was in the flesh and never sinned. That being said, it is inevitable for anyone to sin because we are not even close to being what Jesus is; he is God. What verse are you speaking of? My bible tells me that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory - Romans 3:23 Sinning intentionally, ignoring God's commandments, etc. THAT is what is a big time no-no and is what causes us to forsake the salvation Jesus died for. As long as you continue to walk in Christ, and follow his commandments carefully you retain your salvation(of course, after you've asked for it.) I have not met one Christian that has had a smile plastered on their face 24/7, nor a bible glued under their arm. It is humanly impossible to be a vibrant ray of sunshine all the time. It's fake. Jesus got mad, sad, loud, communed with the lowest of people, even rebuked people in the church. Not everyone can be world wide missionaries or mother Theresas. God needs people for their own communities to. We don't all do as much as someone else, or as big or little as some one else. God will put something in your heart....but I don't think he wants you to single handedly save the world.

what the bible says is that we're no longer SLAVES to sin. It doesnt rule our lives or condemn us to hell anymore because Christ died to take away all the sins we would commit past, present, and future. We dont WANT to sin anymore because we want to please Christ, but He knows we're human--- He made us. If we could be sinless, He wouldnt have had to die in the first place. Paul accounts for this when he says "I want todo what's right but I dont. Instead, I do what I hate... Oh what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord." I encourage you to read all of Romans 7

living a Godly life isnt always easy God tells us that we will be watched closly by others and disliked by those of the world, but like everyone we will have our share of problems only difference is that we have God who will be there with us through our problems, They may not magically disappear but He tells us He will be with us through them and guide us. We go through trials because they make us stronger and wiser in the end. God tells us that all have fallen short of the glory of God and all have sinned but if you ask forgivness with a sincer heart that you will be forgiven. I find that it is easier to live a Godly life when you surround yourself with Gods word, instead of tempation. If you know that something will bring you tempation and cause you to sin ((why)) put yourself into that. Also remeber that God will not allow you to be tempted more then you can take. Let go of the things that are holding you down.

I feel that I could do so much more for God, I know that I should make more effort but sometimes I just feel lazy. I really dont want to feel lazy or anything and it frustrates me. But I know by having faith that I will get through it in the end, God will help me come through it a stronger person...
